Ash helping her.
Versace is VERY well liked by the big hens. As soon as he's ready he has many girlfriends.
Which means Ric Flair is free to have all the younger pullets if he desires. Hormones haven't kicked in for them yet so fingers crossed they get along.

Just saw a hawk sitting on top of the chicken run. thankfully they are all pretty observant so they ran for cover and Goldie is good at setting off the danger alarm which alerted me so I could scare it off. The dogs should be getting home soon from their vacation at the doggy daycare so I am going to keep them out there extra to help keep it away

He will be like Mr P I bet, a lover not a fighter, he sure is getting really mottled isn’t he 🥰

Just be careful they don’t get carried away and start picking at his fancy coiffe and breaking the feathers - they bleed like crazy!

Thx for the movies recommendations. I'm finishing up Clive Owen in a recent Sam Spade series set in France.

That is so nice to have the night camera to keep an eye on your animals. Our coop is under a patio roof just steps away from the kitchen door so we never invested in a camera.

My DD/SIL have 4 cameras on their property cuz they're against a dense nature preserve on their back fence & up against mountain foothills so they get bears, deer, coyotes, lynx, bobcats, raccoons, possums, rabbits, skunks, rattlesnakes & once a puma (mountain lion). I have no pics of the wild animals but these pics show the wild brush at their back fence. Not my cup of tea to live so close to wild brush or that many wild preserve animals. People in this neighborhood can't leave their dogs or cats outside at night ~ they disappear or get killed in the yards. People often find a bear in their swimming pools, & chicken keeping is totally out of the question.

Beautiful scenery. One word: electric fencing - oh how I love zapping the crap out of naughty beasts, like my thoroughbred mare who is slowly destroying my fencing. I really need to put my electric fencing up to deter her from cribbing on the fence and breaking the boards.

But yea it does keep the predators away also. 4 strands with the bottom three set at about 6-8” apart and the top strand at about 3’ will keep out bears and other curious beasts. And apparently will teach your nieces to grab their Dada by the hand and say ‘dad we want to show you something’ and drag him over to the fence grab it and give their Dada a zap - hahaha brats!

Hmmmm Marty is off the nestbox wonder if she laid an egg?

The cameras were originally for my broodmares, so I could keep an eye on them without bothering them when they were foaling.

Then I used them to keep an eye on my mum and the horses when I was out west- she would do chores for me.

And when I got chickens I used them to keep track of them when out west, and my mum and something to do at 2am when my legs bother me.

I also yell at them while at work when they are being bad, mostly they ignore the disembodied voice though!

Wait until he finds that "perfect" spot to dig out a stump so he can roll in the dirt....
Wait until he digs up something dead and rolls in it…. Hahaha

Has he rolled in chicken poop yet? My cousins little dog did HAHAHAHAHA city people are so funny - a bit of smelly poop and they get all freaked out. Did I mention it was cecal poop 😆
