The vaccine is for ducks only. They are still experimenting the chicken one. And it's only for commercial operation and unfortunately, does not mean an easing of restrictions in affected zones.
The information is available in english here for anyone really interested. I'm not in an affected area so I'll admit I haven't paid much attention.

@BY Bob , have you heard about a recent case in backyard chickens reported in Pennsylvania? Not 100% the source I read is reliable.
Don't know about chickens but 3 humans got bird flu I read about 6 months ago ~ one in Michigan, Texas, & Pennsylvania.

She’s a funny little thing. And very jealous if I pay anyone else attention if she is around.

I feel she will soon lay eggs.

That is a pretty photo although looks lighter than her other pics. I wonder what color roo would breed more Moorheads from Georgie? @Hinotori breeds nothing but Partridge Silkies and she has BYC posted some gorgeous Partridge variation hens & roos. She was never NPIP certified to ship birds so I was never able to get any from her ~ she is several States away from me.

Henny Penny I feel is not a satin silkie.

I think she is a cochin x silkie mix, she is extremely fluffy like a cochin. But she does have 5 toes and dark skin.

There were bits of snow about and they were very intrigued by it.

But it soon lost its appeal hahaha - brrr!
Nyx is silkie x cochin! Lil ball of feathers!
Two new developments:
Shiba-san inspecting the nest boxes in the new coop
Nyx following the boys around trilling

Also Samara is a BUTT and wriggled under Nocturne practically as soon as her egg came out. She upset her quite a bit too! Lots of hollering. Dang broody buttcheeks.

As promised, Pretty Boy!

He enjoys a bedtime stroke like the rest of the hens. He also scooched over on the roost bar when I went to add Bab last night, then snuggled up to her. Very adorable.

So so cute!
Satin Silkies just means smooth feathers & the only way to get a Satin is by crossbreeding Silkies w/another bird that's smooth. For instance, a Satin-Laced can only be bred by crossing a Silkie w/a Wyandotte, Sebright, etc to get the laced pattern. Not my personal cup-of-tea to have a Satin or Laced-Satin but they are gorgeous however they're made.
