I am sorry. I didn't mean to laugh at your predicament, but I just couldn't help myself. She is paying you back for not whipping out that incubator - and showing you that , yes, she really is a true Silkie!

Honestly, while you may dread it - I just think that Game X silkie is an absolutely wonderful combination - and YOU may have taught her differetly, but she also had Momma Hen as a mentor, too. Clearly some of 'momma's' smarts rubbed off on her to mke sure it was a spot you could not easily reach and 'break' her!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Sorry, @RebeccaBoyd , but I'm with 'Team Poppet" on this one!
Can’t help but side with Rebecca, I would be a nervous wreck if my hens did this to me. Which is why I have made darn sure there is no way they can go and hide somewhere that I cannot get at them.

I have a hunch at least 1 (ah-hem, Mrs Little Chicken) will make you eat those words at some point.

@Marie2020
Marie's Princess is an internet sensation posting from her new home as 'Resident of the Week'. I am sure Marie misses Princess terribly, but it is so good to see she managed to find such a lovely new home for her.

Apologies if I missed anything important. Have a great week everyone.
Thank you! Hadn't checked in in a few days and needed this.

I have a hunch at least 1 (ah-hem, Mrs Little Chicken) will make you eat those words at some point.
Well unless she runs and hides somewhere outside then there is no place inside she can get to sit eggs.

Also she has been on the Summer House so no Mr LC around to breed her, and if Mr P tried to breed her he would just squash her; those eggs of hers are not fertile.

So far she has had no signs of broody, and she is all business laying her eggs, she hops in the nest, lays her egg and hops back out. She and Betty are the same hahah.

Now Georgie Girl, she spends a long time in the nest, throws straw and shavings over her back - she will go broody I am sure in a flash!
