I don’t know that this will help Rose, but I think that all these chickens had a very lovely life.
And that lovely life is something that you, and each of us on this thread, gave them.
It was a gift.
They did not live in fear of death, they just did their happy chicken things each day they had.
That was our gift to them.
That their death was so sudden means they did not suffer for long and that gives me comfort.
Don’t share the way I think with Rose if it will upset her more, but no more chickens means withholding that gift of a happy chicken life, and that is sad to me.
This is an argument that I will take up when the time is right. The Polish have such a hold on her heart. She just loves them so much. He is the third she has lost in the past year. That's a lot to take. Frankly we are still dealing with Phyllis passing. I miss her every time I go out into the backyard and she is not at my feet.

The hope was Versace would take her place in the tribe. But he was a boy. We found him a good home where she could still follow his life and that was just ripped away. It's just hard for her right now. He was her baby.

Thanks. Mrs BY Bob's immediate reaction was no more chickens and then no more Polish. No more chickens is how she reacts to any chicken death these days.

She is over that now but it's hard on her losing them so young.
I know how she feels. When my last cat passed away we stated ‘no more cats’.

Then Missy showed up on my desk at work. I should be good for cats until I am near 70 now. :love

Rats I have got that ‘sign in’ error again on my phone.
Whatever @notabitail told me to do last time worked. Hopefully I made a note of it!
Clear you cache - or go to another website and back again... do I owe SHRA tax?

We haven't seen this one in a while - BFTP - the Royal Couple.

So hard losing ones feathered and fur friends. I went through a year of misery with my horses, losing 4 of them. The final one a mare in foal so I lost them both. I was set to get rid of all my horses at that point right there. My Veterinarian, told me to take each day and not to stress about getting rid of the horses. I also didn't breed any horses for a couple years after that.

I did raise Lulu and Truly a couple yrs later but they were my last foals here.

When they are gone I will not be able to have any more horses (physically and financially unable), I will definitely miss them. Which is why I have the chooks now.

Am I worried about losing my chookies - sure am. But I am taking it one day at a time, and trying not to stress over them. I am enjoying their antics and not stressing over the future.

My Grandmother gave some wise words: If you don't have them to make you laugh, then you don't have them to make you cry.

You need to take the good with the bad, having the bad makes one appreciate the good even more.
