Sounds very much like the slavic domovoi including the tendancy to be grumpy and play tricks. Maybe it's a common figure in various lore ? Or it made it's way through Finland.

When things go right, you want someone to thank. When things go wrong, you want someone to blame. Back then spirits of the land were a commonplace belief, and prayed to/communed with moreso than the gods, so it was convenient to point fingers at them.

The Finnish version is the tonttu. Basically the same idea. Finnish is more Slavic than Norse/Scandi, which is so cool to me.

The Germans have the kobold, in Latin America they have the Duende, the Scotts and English have the brownie! These are just a handful of examples of the same phenomena across the globe

It's Monday and I have some mugs for you.

The only mug earning her keep right now is Judy. I am hoarding every precious egg from her for Thanksgiving baking. As of this morning I finally have exactly 1 dozen. I know it is just a matter of time before I loose her eggs. All her hatch mates have stopped and are molting. Please girl, hang on for just 1 more week, just 1 more week.

Yay! They're gone!

I didn't get Monday Mugs pics today. After I got home from the dentist I sat with the girls in their run for a bit, they were checking out my ice pack And when I put my head down on my knees (sooo tired), they all crowded around and groomed my hair. They're so sweet. Until they start pecking hard

I'm trying to teach them what "gentle" means. But I don't know quite how to do it. When they peck too hard I say "OW!", and I give them a tap on the head or back and tell them "gentle". I speak to them softly and tell them "good girls" when they're being gentle. Hopefully they start to get the picture...

I know how hard they peck!

You should look up The Book of Kells. I think you find it interesting.

And look up Kelpies (water horses).

This innocent looking girl is a devil, she has picked at Mr P’s butt breaking the blood feathers - she will not be allowed back in the Summer House with him.
