Sigh. I really wish if there is a cockerel in the silkie group he would let himself be known. The last month several silkie cockerels and roosters have been listed. I have resisted them all. Yesterday I came very close to cracking. A paint silkie rooster was listed, 30 minutes away. Oh I wanted him. Thankfully he had already sold by the time dinner was over and family left and I was able to sit back down at the computer. I cannot fold yet and jump on a rooster. If I do have one in this group he is staying, I am attached to them all. It would not be fair to buy one only to have to turn around and rehome him if I do have a boy.

Phew. Still recovering from wisdom teeth removal, been busy now on top of that the past few days... We got the bottom 4ft of the run wrapped with landscaping cloth a couple days ago. Just in time, because it snowed last night and it's snowing and it's going to keep snowing!

Tomorrow hopefully, if we get a break from the snow, we'll wrap most of the top with greenhouse plastic. I know it isn't strictly necessary to do this part, but the coop isn't very well insulated at all so I figure keeping the run better insulated will provide more protection until we can build a new coop.

We're going to wrap the door fully in greenhouse plastic.

They were reluctant to come out this morning. They're fine now 😆

Sybil laid her second egg! This one is more brown compared to her first one yesterday.

Speaking of, I scrambled it for the girls this morning. The yolk was so rich!!!

Small but perfect. Good job, Sybil!
