I only had 1 which I believe was an Eschequer leghorn - in an assortment - and it turned out to be a roo - and I found a great home for him as I couldn't keep another roo at the time. Long story short - he had white legs, and eschequer leghorn seemed the only possibility given the hatchery's offerings and his motled black and white colouring I should have looked it up before posting - shame on me - but that is the ONLY leghorn I have had (assuming he was a leghorn)

That's a puzzler what breed you had. Not only do Exchequer Leghorns have yellow legs but so do the Anconas that are a Mediterranean breed & look very much like Exchequers also.

Did you keep a photo of your birdie? He sounds like he was a pretty roo. It's so hard to give up cockerels ~ we had to rehome two boys ourselves over the years

She looks so fluffy...& peaceful. Every time I see her round behind she reminds me of the Cheshire cat shape:

So I have just noticed that the yellow legs on Twister have changed to silver with pink feet! What gives?

The yellow fades over the laying season. When they take a break and start up again, the color comes back just like with the combs and wattles.

Leg colours are different, too. Yellow for Wellsummers, White for Leghorns

Leghorns are yellow. Orpingtons, australorps, and sussex are white

2 lemon pound cakes with lemon drizzle and Lemon icing done. A 3rd smaller one is already half gone and they are delicious. We have a gallon bag of zest in the freezer. A gallon of fresh lemonade is in the fridge. Within the next 20 minutes a cheesecake is going in the oven and we will get started on the lemon curd.
