Well in good news, nobody was freaked out about the big orange umbrella. Everyone is settling down to roost quite happily.
But hilariously Sylvie has decided she wants to roost. So she has moved to the branch perfectly positioned to poop all night on my wrap. I guess she is telling me exactly what she thinks of my efforts!

Still I am happy because roosting on wood has got to be better than bare metal when the temperature plummets.

Wow! Adelaide! It must be summer for you while the rest of us in the No. Hemisphere are freezing our tushes here!
Yes, it's summer with temperature highs low-mid 30C, which is quite a mild summer for us. We usually have highs in the 40s. I love looking at all the snow in people's photos!

Bare metal can cause frostbitten toes. Glad you wrapped it even if she's not happy with you.

What is it about chairs to roost on? My computer chair ~ when Tova was ready for bed she didn't care if I was sitting on it, she jumped up & squeezed behind my back to snooze w/hanging head. She was our ailing bird, no cure for avian leukosis, so we let her do whatever made her happy till she passed at 6 months.
