We had freezing rain overnight, there is the sound of trees crashing all around me. I have a few branches down from the pine trees but nothing bad.

Lost the power twice over night, but only for about 10 or 15 min each time. Thank goodness I don’t live were my sister is - she and my niece have had no power since yesterday evening at 6pm.

My niece said it’s like a tornado went through - trees down everywhere. And her sump hole in the basement filled so fast her husband was bailing water all night - she’s 20 weeks pregnant so she is not to lift heavy buckets of water. So he had to do all the work. They are getting a generator this week she said!

This is why I have the generator here. I have been down that road of bailing water all night.

I had to bring the horses in it’s still pelting down here, and now trees are crashing down all over. The horses were getting riled up.

And the chooks were smart they came back inside when it started pelting down again.

Heaven help us if the wind picks up - that will finish off the trees. It’s beautiful on the trees but disasterous for them.

Overnight. Back to the 60s now for a few days and then forecast below freezing again midweek.

Ice storms are beautiful but can be very destructive. We avoided any serious ones this year but we usually have at least one every year. Stay safe.

Nacho is a notorious chick neglecting hen.

I’m back home. It’s all good. I have to clean their feed bowl and water dish. Possibly later this afternoon, I might take them out of the brooder and let them run around a bit.
