This is why they need to move out. Their heads are poking through the wire.

They finally have room to scratch!

They have gotten so big and they are adorable. I love the wild hairdo's they are sporting at the moment. I miss George's floof being this wild. I have noticed in the last few months a few polish breeders popping up very close to me. I love my little George. In a year or two he may need a few friends like him. I'm thinking as my older larger girls pass on, which they are not allowed to do so for several more years their replacements will be of the bantam variety.

Tonight is the night my friends. At 8pm we officially hit day 18 and it is time to go into lockdown. When everyone heads to bed and I can turn off the living room light and not bother anyone I will candle and remove the turner.

I am a little bit worried I am not going to lie. For the first time my incubator has given me fits with keeping a steady stable humidity reading. It is time to turn old reliable into a hatcher. I plan on having a new one by the end of the month. I would have gotten one today but having to miss a weeks worth of work due to having the 2 teeth pulled I'm broke. Well, not broke but after buying feed, chick starter, the start of Rosie's birthday presents I did not even look at the prices of incubator's while I was at Rural King and Tractor Supply. I just need to get past Mother's day weekend and all will be good. She turns 17 on Mother's day, it does not seem possible. I will be spending Sunday making something for the first time. My neighbor let her try crawfish 2 weeks ago, she loved them. For her birthday dinner she wants a crawfish boil. Jamie claims they are the easiest things in the world to cook. I've informed her I may drag her over here to help me out.

17?! Wow, that came fast!
Congratulations to both of you.
Good luck with the crawfish broil - I am confident the chickens will help with clean-up!

Your telling me. I swear it feels just like yesterday that I was on day 2 of a 9 day journey of active pre-term labor. The scariest time in my life but also the most rewarding. Nothing will ever top that Mother's day.

I see you also like to spend quality lawnchair time 🥰👍
Hahaha If you mean the first pic, with the EE, shy is incredibly shy and flighty, BUT she is apparently addicted to Trader Joe's raw slivered almonds! It was the first thing that she ever took from my hand, and a week later when she jumped up on my knee for more, it was all I could do to not startle both of us by leaping into the air.

But yes, our term for quality lawnchair time is "chicken therapy.";) 🥂
