Gosh I LOVED Thing - I would love a Houdan - Performance offers them but only straight run.No, a mottled houdan mix, taking the crest down to a partial crest size so trimming is less needed. Thing was so interesting that I would consider these.

but she is so stunning in that picture!Maybe crop it, but considering her tail got cut...unless she poses for me again....doubtful. I love that pic, though.
Sounds like your next name list: Glaze, Cruller, Fritter, Bavaria, Cake, Sprinkle, Bismark
I suspect they used a mottled cochin or a light Brahma with them. No, a mottled houdan mix, taking the crest down to a partial crest size so trimming is less needed. Thing was so interesting that I would consider these.
Insert “horndog” here& doesn't it make one wonder where the Houdans & Sultans came from to begin with? 5 toes, crested, feathered feet, bearded... just sayin'... those Silkies & Polish got around...![]()
Houdan don't have feathered feet like Cookies & Cream at Meyer.
Great
Houdans and Dorkings are 5 toed and clean legged. Silkies, faverolles, and sultans are 5 toed and feather footed. Houdans, silkies and sultans are crested. Houdans, faverolles, and SOME silkies are bearded. Dorkings have been in existence as a breed in England since the time of the Romans....and have short legs as do Scot's Dumpies, which are almost as old.& doesn't it make one wonder where the Houdans & Sultans came from to begin with? 5 toes, crested, feathered feet, bearded... just sayin'... those Silkies & Polish got around...![]()

Awwww!Eggsactly. I am thrilled Bert got a nice home, and Rosario and Sir Shirley. They sent me video of him todayTidbitting for his new lady a silver laced Wyandotte. They wanted to know if that was his happy noise

I tried to figure that out, they don’t say and I can’t find anything definitive on how they manage this feat. I read many, many reviews and apparently they do have a very high rate of success and will reimburse if wrong. Mistakes do happen though for sure just not often. I personally figured it was bound to be much better than straight run.How thrillingfor Pebble. I know Cuckoo variety in other breeds are auto-sexing at hatch but not sure how sex can be guaranteed w/ Blue Silkie chicks... unless the hatchery does their own DNA testing? That's a first if a hatchery can guarantee SiLkie pullet chicks. I have heard great comments about Meyer & if other hatcheries don't start doing DNA testing on bantams Meyer will blow them all away

What will you do if he’s a she??![]()
Yes, there was a breeder here who kindly weighed in and she thought boy as well. Though it would be hilarious if we were all wrong and quite possible too! They are incredibly difficult to sex for so long.Wasn't someone commenting they were pretty certain the larger walnut comb confirmed him a boy?
These are adorable. I have seen them, I actually really like their color and smaller crests. Downside is the size is unpredictable some are small but some are nearly full size which tracks since it is a cross. Adorable though.@knoturavggrl ~ another Silkie mix sold exclusively by Meyer called Cookies & Cream. The Silkies are being used for so many crossbreedings
