I cannot help but feel guilty but yes the post office is at fault here. It’s clearly a live container and the most likely thing her is mishandling on their part.

It does sting. I ignored my gut instinct not to have bantams shipped because it was in state and I had good luck both times before with standard sized chicks. I think I am officially done attempting that. Two moon Acres is the only place that I can personally say does it as right as is possible. Chicks are not shipped until 3-4 weeks of age. Any older ones she ships go by animal transport only. This is the only way she will do it. I know it may not be cheap but it really does seem to be the most ethical way to do it.

I did just this. I hemmed and hauled when I called Meyers but ended up just asking for a refund and just sat with the loss for a bit.

Then after some time I reached out to Red Barn Silkies (where I got Pebble and Nyx from). I figured the worst he could say was no.

He didn’t say no though, he said and I quote “I will look around this weekend and see what I can find.” 😂 Where are they hiding??? The gentleman that runs Red Barn is a character for sure.
He also said it’s a bit early yet for soft culls but I am not in big hurry.

So, I have decided to just wait and see if he “finds” some hidden pullets for us in his barn sometime in the next couple of months.
I cannot wait to see what he finds for you. He sounds like he is a true gem to work with. I don't recall all the color's he works with. He has white, black and partridge right? I hope he finds you a nice white pullet. White is growing on me, and a nice white is stunning. I may have missed it but is either Nyx or Pebble a cockerel?

Good catch, my only excuse it was quite late when I posted. Liquid B complex is what I have for her not B12 complex.

All of them are beautiful 🤩 I really like the Moorhead look just darling!
Little Bingo is on track to look like Martina.

Or Patsy who I think being beardless is her momma.

Either way I am not complaining, I adore those 2 girls.

Lucky's mom is this little lady Lorrie.

Bluey's mom is this girl.

Calypso, well, I have no clue on her parentage. She is beardless like the rest of them so that does narrow it down somewhat. I will not even take a guess on which boy is her daddy as both parents have to carry that dominate white gene. I know for a fact Davy is Bluey's dad, only option. I suspect Barbosa is the father to Bingo and Lucky.

I find it amusing that while I love my bearded girls, I kept beardless keepers. I had plenty of bearded chicks hatch out. These 4 just spoke to me as chicks. I remind them daily though, please, pullets.

AT&T internet is not working well in my area today. Fact is, only one tower and the four businesses, three private users besides myself only use the darn thing. And it’s such a pain, when they have to maintain it. :th
Maybe you should look into something like Starlink. I don't like its parent company but if it works well it's probably worth putting up with.

Fact is, I researched this situation with my tiny town. Results: no growth expected for years to come. And after these many years, I was correct.

I was outside with the chooks, and asked “do any of you want to come inside today? Only Elsa hung around. I took her inside… lots of treats were waiting. Thanks to Bob, I have that song stuck in my head:
🎼let me go, let me go, i don’t wanna be here any more.. la,la,la
But my Elsa is very happy here in the house. Good treats, and Monty Python’s Holy Grail on my wide screen (again) lucky chicken she is!
