Or... on chairs💕

I was waiting for the chair to tip over 😳

Integration Update

There has been no drama today at all.

I did an upgrade to the Cluckle Hut giving it a new awning. I think it came out smashing.

I used upside down planter hangers and got the curl of the hanger to line up with the ridge in the metal roof. Very cool, if I do say so myself.

I can now put the window back in this winter without having to remove the awning.

I completed painting the nest box lids as well.

The girls seem to have split the yard in half.

The main flock has ignored the butterfly bushes and everything to the left for a long time. Only Aster goes over there.

So the Phyllistines have adopted that part of the yard. The groups are separate except for Aster who goes over with the Phyllistines.

Now in the evening the main flock comes over to the garden yard and there is some mixing then but not much chasing any longer.

I put a waterer over by the shed so the Phyllistines have access to water through the course of the day.

I'm in Charge Here

The other big development today is that I know who the leader of the Phyllistines is.

When they first arrived Nimue was bigger and was clearly taking care of Niamh.

As they have grown, Nimue has been calmer, cautious and Niamh has been frantic and adventuresome.

Well adventuresome has won out and Niamh is the leader.

I was giving them blueberries today and Nimue would not take one from my hand until Niamh had one. It was the classic "I must have permission before I can take one" response.

Here they are by the butterfly bushes.

That’s excellent, and glad Aster has youngsters whom she can hang with.

Love the awning! I have been trying to figure out something like that for the window in HH-A, it’s west facing and the rain will beat in through it, not to mention the afternoon sun.

I love the planter use great idea! Hmmm Monday tomorrow - stores will be open, I’ll have to hit up Home Depot I guess!

Getting a vet appointment for Hazel, hopefully they can see her soon. Her left eye sinus / "eyebrow" above her eye is swollen, and today she started scratching her right eye too. This is from yesterday or the day before and it's worse today.

The Tiagard helped her a little but her left eye was foamy soon after, and it didn't clear up completely. She's also gone through a partial molt, and the heat stressed her too. I wonder if what she has is resistant. She likely did not drink the water enough, she hated it although I sweetened it, and she would not drink it. Everybody else was okay with it. I had it in all the waterers but she was seeking out other sources, even dew probably, and then we had a couple of days of rain and she was drinking drops from the run wires and from the wet foliage.

She's always been a picky eater.

I had to individually dose Clyde he wouldn’t drink he wasn’t feeling well.

Sure hope the vet can help her.

They are not yet hanging with Aster. They avoid her. For her part Aster just passes through ignoring them.
