Yes, they are master wrigglers!
The vet pointed out an interesting thing - all you need is a touch on their shoulder tips to stop flapping, not a hold clamping down the whole wing. So a hand under them from the front with their legs between fingers. Your other hand over their back to stop the struggling/flapping - just touching the shoulder tips. So either wait and they calm down, and your top hand can come off and you take a picture, or for me what worked is your above hand becomes the holding hand, with fingers coming down their front or their back, either way. You can get a good look at their tiny butts pretty well then.
Did my best. Definitely not right. Not a great picture but you can see it is red and maybe even a bit of blood.
Doesn’t look inflamed around but does look like a small prolapse.
She did poop twice. Normal looking poops and she continues to eat, drink, and run around.
Although Buckeye is pecking her a lot she seems to be upset by her eye liner not her butt.
Any ideas? I wondered about Preparation H (hemorrhoid cream).

Here you can see more clearly after I wiped her down with a cotton ball in warm water and then applied Witch Hazel with aloe.
She isn’t passing blood I don’t think. The red is the inside lining of her vent and you can see it is protruding.
I think I will post on the diseases thread but would welcome any advice from the Fluffy Butt family.

Oh dear. The UPS mailer turns out to be no match for Geronimo - here she is assessing the height before backing up and running and flapping.
She got her toes onto the top before I batted her back!

What a look of determination...🤣💞

Mail isn't stolen but USPS & FedEX have delivered to wrong houses☹️ Some neighbors have locked mailboxes but none of our important business is by mail 📬 so no longer need to spend $$$ on a P.O.B. just cuz of USPS incompetence.

Things that were stolen most recently in our neighborhood have been our county trash bins. Almost everyone around here have had at least one bin hijacked.

And our chickens will miss the bins if gone...

Sorry that happens. Thievery just makes me angry.

You know they have a drive to join their “mama”. Who is that? YOU!

Sit as close as you can in a washable outfit and let them jump up to your arm and lap!

What I found with the Buckeyes, more than the Orpingtons, but even with them, is that they want a perch there at the edge. You could make one out of a cardboard box and tie it to the mesh, they are so light right now that will be enough. Also some bricks piled up and a narrow board placed / tied to them. The top of the Brinsea plate was the anchor for one side of mine.

Once on the edge, they will often stay there and observe. But they need contact with you first, before you do chores. Lay your arm on the edge! Then in a bit show or give them something interesting back in the brooder and that’ll keep them occupied for a bit.

Unfortunately it wouldn’t do to have them imprint on her. She wants to have them bond with Tassles, the less she interacts with them the better. I’m fact I wouldn’t spend too much time with them if I were bonding them with a mama.

Plenty of time to have them hopping up on you once they get out and about. I have never had problems with mine hopping on me even when broody raised. In fact it’s easier because mama shows them that the Hooman is an awesome resting place!

You probably didnt need to keep checking on the chicks when driving. They constantly chirp & mutter all the time anyway. Even w/ a passenger to hold the chickbox in the lap, the chicks never stop peeping. DH had our Dom chicks in our pet carrier & they would stop peeping only when he put his fingers thru the wire & they all cuddled next to his fingers ~ softer sounding but still kept peeping all the way home. They never shut up! Funny little buggers.

Silkies in a box on the drive home ~ 2 separate pickups ~ peeped all the time. Guess that's a good thing?

A couple screaming kids in the vehicle will distract to border agents I am sure!

Or there is always some tape on their beaks….

Just kidding!
