I had a surprise when I was picking the pears, one of them was buzzing, when I turned it over to check it for defects, I saw a hole where a wasp had crawled into it! I chucked it into the brush so the horses wouldn't eat it, or the chooks.

I find if I click on the picture I can see that I can then see the others. Happens a lot.

Dragged Whiskers off the nest as I felt she was getting a bit depressed. She had a big poop and dug up a storm.

I can't get over how the Tassels Littles are now like chickens only miniature. They don't even seem to have really had the awkward teenage stage. They play at grown-up all the time now with preening parties and roosting on branches.

I was doing some research on the Noirans and found a place in Quebec that sells then and has posted that their life expectancy is '10 to 12 years'. I'll let you all know in a decade if this is acurate!

I can't get over how the Tassels Littles are now like chickens only miniature. They don't even seem to have really had the awkward teenage stage. They play at grown-up all the time now with preening parties and roosting on branches.

The Noirans are like that also, and I noted they are getting booties like Cookie! One in particular is developing quite the footwear. I love those fuzzy legs, I guess I'll need to name them soon. Though I am on the fence about keeping them. The lure of very dark eggs vs getting some Tolbunt eggs next spring and a maybe some Polish pullets. Quite the dilemma!

Just looking at that picture of the Littles again, should I be concerned about Chippy’s comb?
Four weeks old. Chippy is the one nearest the camera in the first picture.

My Sussex always made me question that at about that age. My RIR and Barred Rocks too. Are red wattles emerging too? If not, then no. Is so, keep an eye on it.
