That is a crown comb if I ever saw one. Just awesome! Here is Red. He’s a RIR x Polish, and that’s his comb.

In this photo you can see all/most of my free rangers. I have added and removed some since then.
There are six roosters, and if you zoom in you should be able to see their combs pretty well, I hope.
Two are gone now (it was supposed to be three, but one escaped) but I can’t point out which two are gone. They are both all black though. All of them except the Wyandottes are part Polish. And, of course, there is the pure Polish.

They would fly big time. Perhaps even take off vertically like Polish can do. I might want some of these if you created some.Wonder what type of comb I would get?! And I bet they would fly everywhere - more escape artists hahaha! The only thing preventing me is the risk of getting cockerels
Happy hatchday!Something eggciting I realized a few minutes ago… my oldest chicken is four years old!
Today is Splotch’s hatchday! And Pastel’s… so hopefully he is having a good day in chook heaven.
Happy hatchday Splotch! I am so thrilled to have officially had chickens for four years. These past four years have been amazing because of you and your flock. You Pastel, Bolt, BBQ, and Basil started my chook obsession. I started with five chickens, and now I have 40. That never would’ve happened if you didn’t hatch Splotch. And while Pastel, Basil, and BBQ have moved on to the next life, you and Bolt carry on as my two oldest ladies, and you two are the best girls out of all my chickens. Happy hatchday pretty Splotch. I’ll give you a bunch of strawberries and blueberries with your dinner tonight. And I am putting a hat on you. You can’t make me not put one on you.

Brainiac, she has a beard too! Very exciting having bearded polish
Sigh. Yes I know.Sexing does have a margin of error with some breeds having a greater margin than others.
I did not have speckled suspects; I had Jubilee orps. I still think the chick @RoyalChick is wondering about is a girl at this point. I do see some pink in the comb and a hint of wattles, but with breeds that have the larger combs, the girls do get that earlier on, and you have to wait a little longer to be sure.I think @knoturavggrl has had suspects hasnt she? Or am I mixing up my spotty chooks?
I haven’t had many with big combs and wattles other than my Azure and those arrived here as POL.
Let’s just go with girl for now.

Sigh. Yes I know.
I considered many probabilities in this adventure. But I focused on the probability that Tassels would accept or murder them when I introduced them at 6 days, and the probability that they would die from Marek’s before adulthood because I did not leave it long enough for the vaccine to take.
I did not focus on the probability that the hatchery sexing would be wrong.
Sigh.
They look for each other now and will spend their time in the yard together. It is wonderful to see.Eowyn looks so proud of her "kittens"
