Just being around them - so they know you aren't a threat - is really all you NEED with a roo. As Tassels gives them up, you might want to start giving treats...and giving them to him first (i.e. near him) so he can tib-bit to the others (again, after Tassels gives them up, and as he approaches 'teen stage'. Do be prepared for the idiot phase, and watch to be sure the older girls thump him, and teach him manners....otherwise, nope, there is really nothing different to do with him versus all girls.....just respect that the 'girls' will become 'his' as he ages into it.
(again, assuming it is a 'he' not a she - don't worry - either way, it WILL be fine!)
Tid-bitting, belongs to the roo. I give the treats to him and he will distribute to the others. If he’s not around, I’ll give treats directly to the others.

Yes I do, they had me guessing for a while. I'd been told by someone that boys sprout their tail feathers later then the girls. Here I was with 2 tailless wonders right up to about 8 or 9 weeks.

Chippie is now officially a Speckled Suspect.
What is the correct spelling, Chippy or Chippie? You have used both, if I have read this right. :idunno

Time to go distribute grapes. I was given lots of these funny looking grapes. They are seedless and taste very sweet, but I have too many !

Uhh, Royalchick will have to tell us that one. Hey cut me some slack. I'm just now starting to come alive. I woke up to a cardinal sin. No Coffee, and had to wait several hours for someone to run out to a store to buy a can. I'm just now on my first cup of coffee today. In about 15 minutes people in the house can begin speaking to me.

Then I appreciate even more you looking back at Suspect pictures for me!

I butchered 6 cockerels. The flocks are very quiet. After the unused remains are burned we spread the ash for the others to pick through and dustbathe in.
It was hard today, kiddo insisted on being outside with us and hubby wasn't distracting her enough from the process since he was building the fire. She's okay, just the way her 4 year old brain processes butchering is...difficult for me. She eventually wanted back inside to watch videos and I was able to focus on the birds, instead of repeating that they don't feel anything when dead. She called gramma and said "Mommy put them upside down and cut the blood out and turned them into meat and she says they didn't feel it."

The rest are understandably upset with me, BlackJack ran off last night and I couldn't find him. He's back today, but the girls and Owl are sticking with the guineas. I will be putting some of the adult ladies out with them, ones who aren't as into Riddick as the rest. Red, Deb, and Gertrude I believe.

My grandmother isn't doing well, doesn't want to eat, told my mom to leave yesterday so she could just sleep. She's 92 so she's just tired.
