I opened up the nestbox to check on Delft and gather eggs...and Red hopped in and darted into the run. Well then, I guess the adventure is over.

Red and Gertrude are just sitting on the outside of the run, spending time with their friends and Riddick. Was it a mistake to move them out? They really want back in with the run-dwellers...

They will get used to being outside and start to roam around.

Then at some point they will run amok and hide away… oh wait sorry I stray off path

They will get used to it.

There's some potentially toxic/poisonous plants around but I've never seen them eat any of them aside from a little taste test. Burning bush, lilies, pokeweed, lily of the valley, Asian bush honeysuckle, milkweed... It's definitely possible she ingested enough of something to get a little sick for a few hours.

Maybe an insect also….

Dad and I have talked about electric fencing, I think it was you who brought it up after Aliss was bit by the dog. It's a possibility, as always, it just comes down to $. We've also thought about expanding the run all the way down the hill to the playhouse. We have ideas, just need to decide which one would be best for our situation and save up to do it.

It all takes time... 14 yrs & we still keep making modifications. As always... monetarily we 1st face the most urgent needs for the birds then expand to the "I wants" for the birds later.

& sometimes our best laid plans for the birds...
