Today I let Whiskers and her 3 terrors roam the Summer House, it was hilarious to watch them roam from one end to the other. And watch the other stay away from them - opposite ends all day.
Marty is doing a wee bit better, but I got a really good look at her last night and she had gone downhill so fast and lost too much weight.
Her abdomen is almost normal sized now. And isnāt leaking anymore. I will keep her on the Sulphatrim trim for 10 days, and this morning I gave her 1/4 tablet of aspirin. She ate a good amount of soaked chick starter topped with some mealworms. Her crop has a good amount in it tonight. Thankfully.
I also have Twister and Flopsy not feeling well, not sure whatās up - did they get into some bad fruit? Or is it something else? Who knows, all one can do is treat the symptoms. Poopy bums and not eating to me is some sort of gastric issue. Twister has been on the sulphatrim for about 6 days, and some aspirin- she perked up by the 2nd day but still not eating as well as I want her to. Flopsy I noted was not well yesterday and very lethargic, so sulphatrim and aspirin this morning when I noted she wasnāt eating.
Likely some enteritis or something going around, I am keeping a close eye on everyone at the moment. Esp the wee ones.
I donāt think coccidiosis, it hasnāt been wet at all, and itās not that sort of poops. I would almost say moulting but they are not losing any feathers.
Again all one can do is keep an eye on them and treat the symptoms. But the fact that Twister perked up after starting on the meds makes me suspicious of a bug going around.
Tis the season of birds flying everywhere.
