Today I let Whiskers and her 3 terrors roam the Summer House, it was hilarious to watch them roam from one end to the other. And watch the other stay away from them - opposite ends all day.

Marty is doing a wee bit better, but I got a really good look at her last night and she had gone downhill so fast and lost too much weight.

Her abdomen is almost normal sized now. And isn’t leaking anymore. I will keep her on the Sulphatrim trim for 10 days, and this morning I gave her 1/4 tablet of aspirin. She ate a good amount of soaked chick starter topped with some mealworms. Her crop has a good amount in it tonight. Thankfully.

I also have Twister and Flopsy not feeling well, not sure what’s up - did they get into some bad fruit? Or is it something else? Who knows, all one can do is treat the symptoms. Poopy bums and not eating to me is some sort of gastric issue. Twister has been on the sulphatrim for about 6 days, and some aspirin- she perked up by the 2nd day but still not eating as well as I want her to. Flopsy I noted was not well yesterday and very lethargic, so sulphatrim and aspirin this morning when I noted she wasn’t eating.

Likely some enteritis or something going around, I am keeping a close eye on everyone at the moment. Esp the wee ones.

I don’t think coccidiosis, it hasn’t been wet at all, and it’s not that sort of poops. I would almost say moulting but they are not losing any feathers.

Again all one can do is keep an eye on them and treat the symptoms. But the fact that Twister perked up after starting on the meds makes me suspicious of a bug going around.

Tis the season of birds flying everywhere.
I hope they start feeling better! What a worry it is :hugs

With Peanut, the ascites was due to cancer. That or infection was what I thought most cases were due to. The color and opacity of drawn fluid is a clue to which. But maybe I just assumed that. Interesting that the link you shared emphasized basically high blood pressure (?)

Not that what’s going on is molting for you but I notice some changes like acting a bit off and different foraging food preferences before molting becomes evident. Poopy butt could be a result. Also not wanting to move could be pain or weirdness of the pins beginning to grow?
