You can learn about mine and how we do things here in the primer which is referenced in my signature. If you are on your phone, turn it sideways to see the link.

Sigh, no response yet regarding the little polish pullet. I'm really hoping no news is good news and she is recovering. If she has passed I would like to know. Worry about a little chicken that is not yet mine kept me up half the night. That was bad as I went down another rabbit hole searching fish tanks, shrimp suppliers and other things.

Breakfast of Champions

I believe that Joy prefers corn over scrambled eggs based upon this morning's breakfast.

Thank you for making this lovely lady feel welcome. She's a real treasure to animals and people alike

Quitchabitchen, be happy none of those horses is a winged Pegasus!

Truly is a wing nut!

Ok so update on the wall sitters and bed time:

Last night it only took 25 minutes to wrangle them all and shove them in the Hen House.

That beast Cayenne though insists on flying up into my arms, on my head back shoulders…. Anywhere she can get to on me where she figures I will snuggle her till she’s asleep. Sheesh! And now Chickie-chick is trying the same thing. Both are not lightweights!

So with Cayenne tucked under my arm like a football (US football that is), I commenced my headcount, 30…. Count again, 30.

Oh for crying out loud!

Go and check the walls for any wall sitters that have sneaked out and sure enough there is Little Mouse. “Get in the pot!”

I get her off the stall wall and she runs over to the Hem House and I let her in, check for any other missing chooks. Count, 31. Did I count Cayenne whom I am still carrying?

Count again, 31. Sheesh! I need 32….

So I go and hunt around inside and outside the barn, even in Mr P’s area. No hidden away chooks.

By now Madam Cayenne is getting sleepy so I toss her back in the Hen House do another count…. 31.

Then it dawned on me. Number 32 had gone to the rainbow bridge in the sky. Silly me!

Well that solved that problem, and with everyone settled down, I went and had my supper.

I need to write on the wall how many there are in each area so I can remember!

They are gorgeous. My gosh such lovlies. 🥰

And already have learnt to eat spiders! There isn’t a spider within about 14” of the floor in Lulus old stall! They will spring up and snap one off the wall - glad I am not a spider!!!
