She's weaning. They'll go to bed...then move to a roost soon... if not simply stay on the roosts. Storm held on to her littles until the littles walked off themselves....around 3-4 months....
Yeah - I don't know how long Geronimo will accept sleeping in a box when Tassels isn't actually blocking her escape!

Good night all

Brrrr! That’s icy cold water from the snow melt, and Blanche just marched right through it!

Remove the box in the morning. She may be sending them there because she thinks that's where YOU want them.
I probably will remove it - though the notion that Tassels does anything because of what she thinks I want is amusing!

The earlier in the day, the better. My lot have to inspect the "hot lava" every time I add shavings or straw. Too late in the day and there isn't time to inspect it properly.

The dead stop/mill about usually happens when we get at least 6 inches, from bare to blanket overnight. I'll keep watching for a video opportunity. It's too funny not to film.
Thank you thank you thank you

Sounds like a rough day, but productive and lots of observation. Need to mull and reread in the morning.
I too want to think this over but I am seriously concerned for Hazel's quality of life.

Great observations on your part @ChicoryBlue
