@ChicoryBlue yes I have roosters just hitting rooberty and a four year old human. She knows to give them space, although it feels like I'm constantly telling her not to chase them when she gets hyper! The free rangers all just move out of the way and check in on her for snacks periodically. The roos have so far accepted her as Bucket Girl, who brings nice things like Bucket Lady does.
We always tell the roosters when we bring snacks, and put them on the ground for them to pass out to the ladies. We don't try to pick up, pet, or hover over any of them which I think the boys appreciate.
Riddick likes her well enough, he's my oldest and just keeps an eye on her when they're in the run together (I am always right there too) He is 9 months old.

Tax, gathering at the puddles while we splashed through the big one nearby. They'll get within five feet of us most days.

Your adult hens are in control now, yes, but who was top chick when the little ones were in their brooder?

Shehnai was an “in charge” chick from the get-go. Totally the boss, chest-bumping everyone daily.
Hmmm. Good question. Possibly Geronimo - but not obviously any of them. To me it feels like they have only just started to figure out the pecking order within the Littles group just now. Cookie goes around challenging everyone and so does Nutmeg.

The Noirans are fairly docile, the silkies are very energetic - and Peekaboo is the bossy pants. I just watched her on the barn cam, jump over onto the otjer ledge and thump poor Spotty who was minding his own business snoozing.

Then Bridie jumped on him also! Poor wee devil!

And I thought all Canadians were kind and fair 🇨🇦 🤦‍♂️

How was everyone's weekend? Today was my mother's birthday. I don't have any new chicken photos. I haven't gotten to them lately but here's an old photo from the summer because I miss summer and the warm weather. With daylight savings time and the weather getting colder, I guess I'm just going to have to wait.

This would be a good picture to submit for the Picture of the week contest....and also if they have a specific contest around Easter. It almost looks like she is sitting inside of a giant Easter Egg given the oval nature of the pop-up and the pastel coloring!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Tis the way of the Chicken.

Don’t worry Spotty knows if he runs to me I will pick him up and he can snuggle. He’s a cute little fart, guess he will need a Rooster Run all his own.
