I just received news that one of my neighbors is moving. They have 11 chickens, that needed rehoming. I told him, just throw them over the fence when you’re ready to leave. I will make a home for them too. That will bring my chicken math up to 30+ chooks.
Are you certain your birds won't attack new chickens that get suddenly tossed into your birds' territory?! You may need to be there before newcomers are territorily attacked? You have several roo's that are fighter games:idunno.

Good night all - I need my old lady rest. Four letter word tomorrow (work if you hadn’t guessed).

I’ll leave you with photos of Bridie I took today.

She’s a very odd colour isn’t she?

And peekaboo - I do so love a nice white chicken ♥️

Not sure why all my white chooks have a yellow cast to their feathers lately. I noted on Henny back in the Spring, her neck feathers came in a soft yellow. Maybe it’s the feed I have for them.
After having a White Leghorn w/ pristine glossy white feathers that stained dingy yellowy from dust/mud baths we never got any more all white birds. The new moult would bring in new white glossy feathers but eventually lost white gloss & got stained again☹️

Hard to tell from the photo but Bridie looks like Blue Silkie 💕 ? Blue or Silver Partridge Silkie feathers get stained brownish from outdoor dirtbaths & mud. The wing feathers & even body fluff will go dingy brown-looking. Our Suzu's been growing in new feathers while recuperating in-house & without outdoor access her Silver Partridge look is returning. It'll be a shame to return her outside to get all stained again!

Any guess as to what breed they are? Very beautiful birds.
My guess is they are not a Welsummer comb or else they are young pullets & haven't grown full Wellie combs yet ~ maybe a hybrid or Legbar?

Wellies have golden necks & reddish body feathers w/blackish tail feathers. They have pretty flecked feathers ~ penciling I guess it's called?

Pretty birds you acquired... I bet they will get used to your pampering & gourmet treats😁

I have no idea how old they are. But poor things are scared to death, thrown into new surroundings without a clue as to why their hooman discarded them. :(
And you're going to spoil them, pamper them, and get then to decide you're wonderful.

Still need more pics to ID breed beyond "beautiful chicken".

Wellies are most popularly red partridge (similar to brown leghorn and where the golden feather shafts come from). Apparently there are a couple of duckwing varieties too.

As such, if they are Wellies, then the one @featherhead007 showed is a young cockerel due to the black breast and small (for Welsummer) comb and wattles. Is why I want more pics.
