I have no idea how old they are. But poor things are scared to death, thrown into new surroundings without a clue as to why their hooman discarded them. :(
They will soon learn that the Hooman is the giver of treats! Then they wi be all over you like flies on a cow pattie!

😁👍

Somebody has been leaving a blob of urates and yellow and clear goop on the poop tray each day for about a week. I posted about it here:

So I suspect Lizbel because of her issues since a chick, and I've been waiting to see how she would do when she matured. Will try to examine her and everyone else today. Also this morning I checked the camera to try to see where she was hanging out before the pop door opened and will check the tray, & note if there's this blob there. I saw her butt had two bits of white streak on it before she left the coop today which adds to my suspicions.
Not clear what there is to do about it except maybe warm baths. Is the yellow goop indicating infection? It is loose and not chunky.

530am, walking Sherlock, just the beginnings of a hint of light where sunrise will be and I hear GEESE migrating! (In addition to the good morning, we're awake crowing)

They are beating a hasty retreat south, I see you are in store for bad weather and cold weather at that.

We already have weather warnings out for Thursday.

I have been closing up everyone the barn and putting the plastic up on the windows.

The plan for the Summer House is to create a Winter Room for Mr Ps gang, just enclose the roosting ledges to help with the extreme cold; last winter they were quite cold I know.

I’ll have a system where I can move the sweeter heater panels into the area over their roosts for night time.

I’ll use the door in the Hen House - that will stop Tippy and Mr LC from roosting up there!

Do you use bubblewrap on the windows? It is a trick someone taught me ages ago and it is astonishingly effective. I have an unheated mudroom (BIG MISTAKE!) and I bubblewrap the windows and find it makes several degrees of difference.
Incredibly easy to do - just mist the window and it stays on there for the season.

@featherhead007

My guess is either Black sex link or French black copper marans. French marans don't have feather legs.
Beautiful lady though! They're going to be so spoiled in your care

The French branch of the Marans all have feathered legs. I think it’s the British standard that has clean legs.

Those Noirans I have which are a hybrid of BCM are really well feathered. They are hilarious when they run as they look like they are waddling!!!
