Gosh that is a lot for a cabbage!
Past year here prices on everything has skyrocketed.

I am hoping for a huge recession world wide with a huge price correction… of course I had hoped for that in 2009 and big biz was bailed out such is the way of things….

I throw one on the floor, they will have it gone by the time I get home likely. Cabbage is pricy here $7 for a head of cabbage! I also threw down some carrots for them.

Everything here is very eggspensive! Buying 3 or 4 heads of cabbage a week gets very pricy, I can get carrots by the crate (think big 4x4x4 size!) they are the odd shaped ones. Used to do this for the horses back in the day. It was $10 for a crate. Not sure what it is now… but might look and see.

It’s annoying the price of cabbage they grow it here by the 1000s acres! Like potatoes! Carrots, radish, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower…… yet it’s so pricy. Because they sell it all over and can get a big buck for it elsewhere.

Heading home to let the gang out. It’s sunny for once!

Cabbage is under $2 if it's organic & around $1 to $1.49 for non-organic here. $7 is insane!!!

Glad you're enjoying sun... we're having rain now for the next 2 or 3 days. It'll be interesting if it rains on the Pasadena Rose Parade next week!

I wouldn't buy one because brassicas are so easy to grow for yourself here, but I'm pretty sure I could get a cabbage for less than £1 (1.35 USD / 1.85 CAD). The enormous locally grown ones might be more, especially if they're being sold by weight.

Mine seem to prefer the looser-leafed types which is handy as they're easier to grow and can be harvested anywhen.

I'm not digging them out of snow at -30. Anywhen depends on what sort of climate you're in.

Sorry, clumsy wording. I wrote at the start of that post that brassicas are easy to grow here and in my head that applied to the rest of the post too - just that with the looser leaved varieties you aren't waiting ages for the short window where they've formed tight heads but not yet bolted.

The one I threw down this morning was the size of a volley ball, and weighed a good chunk! Yep sold by the pound here. Gone are the days of buying them per cabbage.

Oh I suppose I could grow them here easy enough. But I don’t have time for a garden.

Does anyone else see this instead of my video I posted?

I can see the video. You've probably already tried but sometimes when I get error messages like that, just refreshing the page is enough to sort it.

Didn't mean to sound like I was judging anyone who can't/won't grow their own cabbage etc, for whatever reason, btw!
