Only one chick, one yolk was dried up in shell...
So no twins...bummer.
Thinking of calling her Tricksy...
or Elvira...
or Halli...
She's a black star with red speckles.

Congratulations mine are about 6 days behind but now certain of fertility now and been unable to see into any shells

The last couple days my darn hen has been spending SO much time off her nest. She appears to be going many hours without sitting, and it seems like even though it's been in the mid eighties that's too long for her to be taking a break. Multiple times the egg has been cold to the touch. I'm not very optimistic that this chick is going to hatch. It's day 17 and tonight I'm going to try and candle. Should I be able to see movement?

Some eggs you never get to see in but yes there should be movement if you candle
may have to wait for dark tonight

i decided to check my hygrometer for accuracy after reading wvduckchicks’s guide. planning to candle again at day 14 (hoping the pics were just bad and my eggs are still okay)

On lockdown! So far no quitters and one of the eggs has pipped! One little egglet to be was chirping at us and rocking quite a bit. Cannot wait to see what come out! Fingers crossed for at least one Naked Neck

hygrometer settled at 75% with salt test! wish the thermometer part was still that accurate!

My dove eggs were cold this morning (parent was sitting in front of them ). This is the second time it's happened. I'd say they'd been cold all night but both eggs are still alive and wriggling (I candled them this afternoon) so don't give up hope. Those little embryos are amazingly resilient. They are going to be late, but I'm amazed they are still going.

You're totally right about them being resilient, I just candled and the chick is definitely moving! Now I have to play the waiting game, and it's so AGONIZING.
