Yard sale find.
So ugly it's beautiful...

Cleaned it up, stripped out the wiring and snapped out the sockets, then dab painted it GOLD, of course...

Then swapped out stick-in-the ground solar lights where the sockets used to be...

Ta-daaaaaa!

I have 11 girls, but I usually get 6 a day. The most I got in one day was 8 when I had 12 girls. I have 4 egrets and have never gotten all 4 on the same day. I had 7 Brown layers & the most I got in one day was 6, but 4-5 is typical.
I thought an egret was a wild bird!?

That is AWESOME!

Reminded me to clear the snow off my big solar lights.
:thumbsup very creative AND safe!

I been shoveling snow.
Cleared the big run, the sidewalk, driveway, paths to the coops, and 40% of the big dog run.
Maybe I will have less mud.

Another sunny day! It might go up to 60, you have got to love that!
Here is my latest woodburning project....

Apryl, look up the post for chicken with split beak, that person's vet used soft paws, the nail caps for cats and dogs. I would probably try that (the one for dogs), or a fingernail repair kit, and see if it works. You can look up beak repair on Google and get some info that way. Also look up beak and feather disease, my child that goes on the bird forum thinks that might be the cause.

What I noticed is that the beak seems to be weakened and peeling in the center about 2/3rds of the way up. It may be possible to cover that area with the fingernail repair stuff, but it would also be ongoing maintenance, like having acrylic nails and getting them filled and filed regularly. She doesn't seem to mind being held that much, so you may be able to manage it with the fingernail repair and soft paws nail cap used together.

Just my 2 cents worth (don't forget to report that 2 cents as income in your taxes :gig)
