Got an incubator question for everyone... What type of water and what do you put in it to maintain your humidity in the bator? I've always used filtered water with Brinsea disinfectant, but they are out of stock and I want to set eggs on the 5/5...
What are you incubating? :pop
(Sorry I don’t know the answer to the water question)

Hollands, RIW, Nari, Blacks, RPs, and BRs.

ETA: I might also do a batch of Rouens If I can figure out the brooder space.

So rae you use straight berkey water in your brinsea? I have the humidity pump as well.

Sell me some RP eggs and I'll tell you what I use. :gig
I'm on city water, so that's what I use. Some use distilled or spring water you can buy bottled.

I am on a well and ran the water through a brita filter

Hey everyone what’s been going on I’ve been really busy but missed you guys

Hi Sammy! Missed you too!

I have five new cream legbar chicks—3 cockerels and two pullets. They hatched under my broody cochin few days ago. I found a buyer for the two extra males and am going to let my broody raise the other three. I have never had chicks quite this young before. They are so tiny and cute! I like to squeeze into the run of their coop to watch them

I'm working on the whole BR thing right now, but one of my blacks escaped the convent to go play with the BR Tom.:he I'll give her a black tom in a couple weeks and hope for the best. Then of all things, I walked in to the greenhouse where the convent is and one of the girls had a four inch snood and gobbled at me.:he:th:he I
I'm bringing the RP Tom in tomorrow to visit with his girls. He will have a week to take care of three girls. Next will be the Nari followed by the black.

I do have a challenge that I haven't figured out how to handle. In my last duck hatch last year, I had three poults. Not sure how turkey eggs got in there, but they did. Two survived to adult hood. One RP and one black. The RP was genetically flawed as he had no barring. Had to kick them out of the greenhouse to start breeding. First night the black got tangled up in the fence and cut his throat. He's now recovering in the hospital. The RP or white wouldn't leave the spot where his buddy got hurt and got taken out last night by what I'm guessing was a coyote. A little blood, lots of feathers and nothing else. Now this guy in the hospital no longer has a friend and is an outcast with the other toms... I could process him, but he has all the markings and stature of a good breeder. I don't think he'll integrate with the others and he is definitely lonely. What do I do?
