Official Squatch Watchers

mink can get through chain link too.. need 1/2" hardware cloth, but who can do the whole run if it is any size.
I have a hardware cloth skirt, but it only runs up the side about a foot. And the same under the dirt.

We didn’t the short fence thing last year and it worked for a teensy tiny little time. Then they RAVAGED the entire back yard-garden , grass, weeds, and flowers! It looked like a construction site by the beginning of spring.
This year -with the puppy - I really wanted to have a garden again and reclaim my yard but still allow the girls to free range because their run, although fabulous, is really only a “playpen” for when I’m going to be gone for several hours OR when my son’s herding/high prey instinct dog is visiting.

DH was skeptical but agreed to but me the premier 1 (no shock) hen pen. Which isn’t a pen although it could be, it’s more like a free form fencing. It’s 48 inches tall and SO FAR, knock on wood, they girls have not come over the top.

It IS NOT a predator deterrent AT ALL, nor is is dog proof - it’s merely a containment system for the birds , but I think it’s going to help me a lot!
We have it set up along the back part of the yard from the coop to the fence which gives them their own 95 x 12 feet of space.
So far I’m liking it a lot and feel that it was worth the investment.
Fortunately mine were little enough last year they couldn't easily hop over the fence, but they would go around it. My mom wants to put in a big fence to block them in the back area, but I doubt it'll happen.

It is so nice to see a healthy chick in the incubator!View attachment 1380337
It's feet are so big!

Got my bag back, glad so glad I back up my phone on the regular. Oh, and Lulu is broody so yeah funny but ....she's soooo flippin mean! :barnie
YAY!!!! Was there a mean note in the box? & Are you going to let her sit on some eggs?

That's the cutest thing ever.

Let me just say, nutridrench is MIRACULOUS stuff! I had to assist two of my chicks because they got glued to their shells by gunk in the egg (the result of temp problems in the Franken-bator). One of them kept turtling on its back any time I set it down. It was trying to pick its head off the ground but would flip over. I gave it a drop of nutridrench straight, and within 5 min the chick was holding itself up without flipping over.
I wish I'd known about that stuff last year. Some of my mailed chicks might have lived. I even asked the lady who I bought the other 8 chicks from if there was anything I could give them and she didn't know about it. Oh well... if they'd survived I wouldn't have gotten the others.

I have tonsil stones and I’m trying to figure out how to remove
I had them when I was younger and didn't realize it. I'd just use my finger to knock them out. I eventually went and got my tonsils out, like FNF said.. it sucks as an adult. Of course, I'm allergic to vicodin & it made me puke so that probably made it worse. I was 19, but I rarely ever get sick now & it was totally worth it. This link seems to have some informational stuff about preventing tonsils stones, I can't vouch for any of the products it advertises, but the advice sounds logical.
http://www.therabreath.com/tonsil-stones.html and of course, webmd... https://www.webmd.com/oral-health/tonsillitis-symptoms-causes-and-treatments#
Also consider that you may need antibiotics if simply removing the stones doesn't solve the problem.

Another option. I hate having stuff in my throat, i had a super painful surgery that was supposed to help stop snoring but it didn't work. They even cut out my uvula!
Whoa.. they said supposedly getting my tonsils out was supposed to help my snoring, but it didn't. The only thing that really helps is sleeping on my side and not tilting my head back... but who can control that when their unconscious?

I had no fever or sign of infection with my tonsils. I woke up one day and couldn’t swallow. I’ll never forget the nurse looking in my throat and backing away with her eyes bulged out. “Yeah, I’d say their swollen:eek:”. Gave me steroids and they went down. As soon as the steroids where gone they immediately were huge again.
So removal it was. They were the biggest tonsils the ENT had ever seen. Over 4x the size they should have been. So bad they touched in the middle and went down my throat. They saved them and sent them off for show and tell. LOL

I remember we had my brother's tonsils in a jar on top of the cabinets in the kitchen.. IDK why they saved them. I guess it was a thing back then.
I constantly had 'throat infections' as my dr called it. Eventually they decided it was time to take them out. He was shocked I'd been picking the stones out.. I had no idea what they were, I just felt something back there when I swallowed, so I picked at it.
My giant human had her tonsils out when she was 4. They were so big they were only a couple millimeters apart and she'd choke on food. I remember her refusing to take her medicine b/c it hurt... and arguing w/ her that the meds would make it not hurt. She's rarely sick at all now too. Glad she had it done when she was little. I'm worried my tiny human will need it done some day.

Oh, I forgot to tell you guys... My aunt woke up on Saturday morning. She couldn't talk b/c she had a trach, but they said she couldn't remember what happened and didn't know why she was in the hospital, or how long she'd been in there. Haven't heard anything since, so I guess she's doing ok.

 What happened? Did she have a stroke or an accident?

Same with my youngest. She had strep throat sooooo many times until they they finally took them out in first grade.
She was healthy all the time after that.
