Hey Sam!
Try this.

You know how sometimes life just kicks us often.

This morning I fed my gals, put the dogs out, let the gals out and started clearing weeds.

Sunny my 4 year old BO came to see what I was doing. About 20minutes later she went in, laid her egg and went to the food dish. She promptly had a heart attack and died. I was there I saw it happen. At least she went quickly.

Could it have been FLHS...... Maybe.

Weight on Saturday was 6.5 pounds, feather condition awesome, activity level great, eyes bright, comb red and healthy, mites=none.

:hit My poor Sunny girl.

 What happened? Did she have a stroke or an accident?
There was a car accident several weeks ago, she was hit by a car that was being loaded into a trailer. They put her in a medically induced coma and they were slowly reducing the medication so she would wake up. Apparently they weren't sure about how she'd be mentally b/c of some spots they saw on her brain in a scan.

Oh, I forgot to tell you guys... My aunt woke up on Saturday morning. She couldn't talk b/c she had a trach, but they said she couldn't remember what happened and didn't know why she was in the hospital, or how long she'd been in there. Haven't heard anything since, so I guess she's doing ok.

Really glad she woke up!! That means she has to be recovering right?

So sorry about Sunny.

I think so. I'm getting 2nd hand info through my parents. It sounds like she's doing well, but I haven't heard anything recently. As of Saturday it sounded like she couldn't talk, but IDK when she'd be able to. Not sure if she can write b/c she has a broken clavicle. I guess she seemed calm, but that was probably from the meds.

Fortunately mine were little enough last year they couldn't easily hop over the fence, but they would go around it. My mom wants to put in a big fence to block them in the back area, but I doubt it'll happen.

It's feet are so big!

YAY!!!! Was there a mean note in the box? & Are you going to let her sit on some eggs?

That's the cutest thing ever.

I wish I'd known about that stuff last year. Some of my mailed chicks might have lived. I even asked the lady who I bought the other 8 chicks from if there was anything I could give them and she didn't know about it. Oh well... if they'd survived I wouldn't have gotten the others.

I had them when I was younger and didn't realize it. I'd just use my finger to knock them out. I eventually went and got my tonsils out, like FNF said.. it sucks as an adult. Of course, I'm allergic to vicodin & it made me puke so that probably made it worse. I was 19, but I rarely ever get sick now & it was totally worth it. This link seems to have some informational stuff about preventing tonsils stones, I can't vouch for any of the products it advertises, but the advice sounds logical.
http://www.therabreath.com/tonsil-stones.html and of course, webmd... https://www.webmd.com/oral-health/tonsillitis-symptoms-causes-and-treatments#
Also consider that you may need antibiotics if simply removing the stones doesn't solve the problem.

Whoa.. they said supposedly getting my tonsils out was supposed to help my snoring, but it didn't. The only thing that really helps is sleeping on my side and not tilting my head back... but who can control that when their unconscious?
That surgery i had was called a UPPP. They quit doing it because it is ineffective. Just practising medicine, idiots.

It sucks. She was one I wanted to keep. Now I have just 2 BO left. One is cross beaked and the other is not friendly.

The mean as heck BSL are doing great of course.

We are going to be breaking heat records and now I am all worried about my Brahma and giant Cochins.

:barnie

It always is the nice one we loose isn’t it? :hit I am sure she had an amazing life with you but it is still such a shame :hugs

And I hear you about the heat. I got all worried Tuesday because my buff Cochin was acting...off. Lethargic and unwell. Made her sit in a sink of cool water until she perked up then went and added even more shade spots to the run. Fingers crossed neither of spends all summer with a sink full of chickens!
