Official Squatch Watchers

You know how sometimes life just kicks us often.

This morning I fed my gals, put the dogs out, let the gals out and started clearing weeds.

Sunny my 4 year old BO came to see what I was doing. About 20minutes later she went in, laid her egg and went to the food dish. She promptly had a heart attack and died. I was there I saw it happen. At least she went quickly.

Could it have been FLHS...... Maybe.

Weight on Saturday was 6.5 pounds, feather condition awesome, activity level great, eyes bright, comb red and healthy, mites=none.

:hit My poor Sunny girl.
This is traumatizing me! It’s wxactly what happened to poor sweet Margaret Tate!
Gosh I SO SO sorry honey!
Thousands of hugs and kleenex’s Being sent to you.

Wait. What color was her comb?
Dark purple or pale?

I'm not trying to stare at her butt or be snarky but thats some low hanging fruit if iv'e ever seen it. Bad thing is she's young! She is like a veal calf over there.
No!
I can be plenty loud , it that pancake butt that got me!!!!

My chicks are two weeks old today :woot Well, the girls are. When it came time to pick which male to keep, I chose the little guy born 1 day after everyone else. He seemed to still be the smallest and I thought he should get to stay with mom. So his birthday is tomorrow :p

Prior to hatching, I read an old BYC article on Cream Legbars with weekly pics from day old to first egg. I remember the author commenting on how much more mobile they were than dual purpose breeds. Geez, no kidding! These little ones can really move! The two girls are already good flyers, and the boy will be right there with them as soon as he gets a few more feathers. I can’t help but think they are gonna run circles around the rest of the flock when they are older. Poor old biddies ;)

Gonna try to get more pics later. It is scorching hot right now and I don’t want to bother them.

Her comb was normal red not pale or purple.

I am so sorry for your Margaret Tate.
I don't mean to upset you dear. :hugs

I am pretty sure it was her heart. It could have been her liver though. Just so sudden.
