Official Squatch Watchers

Ok squatchers off the topic of eggs and chicks for a minute...
Would you all care to weigh in on your thoughts about
The possibility of adding a KITTEN to my already chaotic PUPPY life...
I miss my cat so very much.

Should I just go for it or wait?
Sorry, I have never had a kitten so I can't offer advice :( Hugs, love, and support whatever you decide though :hugs

I LOVE MY KITTYS!!

GO FOR IT!!!!!!!! :D

@staceyj I think it’s easier to raise a cat around a dog when they can both learn. A confident kitty is much easier to get used to a dog.

Then again I have 3 cats who live upstairs because I have an unruly dog on the first floor.
I agree we have 3 cats in the house with 4 dogs... the youngest cat isn't a fan of the puppy....yet but she will get there lol

Never have.... dont lnow how much it would cost...might look into doing it.
The buyer pays shipping, you can use the priority boxes you get free at the po. Add a packing fee to pay for bubble wrap, you can get big rolls at Walmart. What do you charge for eggs?

These were ISA browns which should be nearly 100% sexable at hatch.
Duh... I forgot that part when I was thinking of reasons for how they could have been mixed. Our store will have 2 or 3 different breeds mixed into a bin, but unless you already know which is which you won't know b/c there aren't very good pics/ drawings on the signs. Our store had straight run BSL's which I thought was odd. I wouldn't be surprised if the staff had no idea that the girls were easy to identify. I'd only ever seen straight run ducks, leghorns & bantams before that. Maybe the hatchery is having more people say they want the males so instead of tossing them they're sending them out.

I'd say, if you can afford it & have the space, go for it.

What does your heart tell you? :)

Staceyj, I say go for it. Remember, you can always adopt an older kitten or young cat (1 or 2 yrs old) that has been around, and is good with dogs. We've had 2 cats around dogs, and neither one was a kitten. Granted, they weren't to happy about the dogs, but both have coexisted and neither species has done the other in. With the puppies, I would personally go with a 1 or 2 yr old that has been around larger dogs. It would be better able to handle them and put them in their place if need be. It might take a little more work to find one, but I think it would be safer for the cat, your sanity and heart, and easier on the pocket book. You don't want to start out with an emergency trip to the vet because the pups got too rough or decided the kitten was a chew toy. You'll also have the benefit of the cat most likely being fixed, up to date on vaccines, and a lower adoption fee, if it comes from a shelter.
