That is hilarious. <3 fig newtons. I wish mine hatched cookies.I remember Sam asking how to pack eggs for shipping, if that gives you a little more encouragement about getting some. You could also check TSC, I know they have straight runs on banty and others that ended up being cochin. That's where we got Lizbeth, and she's a sweet little banty cochin. There again, she has been handled and loved a lot since we got her at 2 or 3 days old. As far as broody, she's tried, but wasn't impossible to break. She's an indoor chicken, so that kinda makes a difference. However, she was trying to hatch a Fig Newton, it took almost 10 days to convince her hormones to calm down, and she had the hen version of a 2 yr old temper tantrum every day when I wouldn't let her back in her pen, plus I had to take all of her hay out so she couldn't get overly cozy. It was actually a lot of work to get her out of her broodiness, now that I think about it. Now I just make sure there's nothing in her pen that she can try to hatch.
That's how Odin is when I feed him. He get super excited about treats too. How's your broody doing? My little Banty Cochin waits for me to fill her elevated food dish. She walks along the perch and clucks impatiently till I fill it. Then runs over buk buk buk buk all excited.
Where I come from we call those crayfish too. Some crayfish burrow if the water table is high... They make a mound by the hole they started at... the exit hole,if they have one, is just a hole. That looks like a crayfish... but a big one
Holy wow... I'd be freaking out about sinkholes.Thank you for these links. Yes, we sit on top of an underground lake or something... you can literally hear the water rushing after it rains. We have a ravine in front of our property that runs at least the length of our street (5+miles) and a ravine behind our home. We have had holes all over the yard, where the DH has said they were created by the crawdads, but at NO TIME can I ever let him be right... ever... Ever. Keepin the white man down yanno.![]()
Welcome back!So you guys, I've been a bit AWOL, but I'm back!
I've been skimming here on the boards, but I really need someone to catch me up properly on the main highlights....I'm OK, just been real busy working, orienting to all these different schools in the district. Survived my first motherless Mother's Day (which was very hard, but I guess it will get easier, as time goes by). Been gardening a bit on the *very few* nonraining days we've had. Getting over a bad cold (actually had to call in sick yesterday--fever). Finally transitioned the babies (the Seramas and the Feather Duster) out to the smaller coop run in their cage, and they spent their first night outdoors! No more Garage Chickens!
Doggies are all good. Hubby is good. He is putting a shiny tin roof on the tops of the runs, as we speak!! Yay! It's gonna be bomb.
My nephew Finbar turns one this weekend, and we are going to his first birthday party. He is seriously freaking adorbs, I cannot stand the cuteness of that baby. I want to eat him up. His little fat piggies (toes) OMG. Rae and Hope, how do you keep from eating your babies??!!
Anyhoo, gonna read a few posts and make dinner for the hubs. I LOVE YOU GUYZZZ!!!

XO, Cindi
https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/fresh-eggsI wonder if they would freak about "food items" being carried on or insist they go in the overhead bin.
No way would going in the overhead be ok.
Interesting thought though. Would be worth checking out.
BUT these are my therapy eggs!!!!!!

Fresh Eggs
Carry On Bags: Yes
Checked Bags: Yes
TSA officers may instruct travelers to separate items from carry-on bags such as foods, powders, and any materials that can clutter bags and obstruct clear images on the X-ray machine. Travelers are encouraged to organize their carry-on bags and keep them uncluttered to ease the screening process and keep the lines moving.
Have you seen those mermaid tale swimming things for kids? There's a video of a girl diving into a pool w/ one on, then she gets stuck w/ her head under water and can't flip back up b/c of air being lighter than water. IDK how that can be on the market still. I'd never even think about buying one.I know exactly what you mean about safety.
I’m super critical about pet toys.
I’m sure I’ve pissed off store managers when I go down the toy aisle telling people not to buy stuff they have in their hands and then point out why.
Honestly I can’t for the life of me figure out how half this crap even makes it from conception to the store shelves without SOMEBODY saying, “eh, maybe not.”
Thanks. I'll check them again tonight & if there's still nothing I'll take them out.Exploding eggs are not good ever.
I would pull them out.

I’ve gotten at least 2 from her since she started sitting. Luckily she’s a sweet little lady and let’s me check on her and the eggs. She prefers I hand feed her in the nest but she seems to be taking good care of herself.
