Official Squatch Watchers

Thanks!

The domes are from industrial light fixtures. They are 2' across and work very well in the garden. I got them for wind and hail protection but they do more! It is a good 5° warmer in them even with the open tops.

The crazy paint was a gallon of oops paint from Home Depot. I got it knowing I would do "something outside" with it but not sure what.

I want to do a crazy color potting bench too.

Mater cages first though.
:bow:bow
I want a potting bench!

A board and six plastic milk crates is my potting bench. :hit

Ok. What I really want to do is take a nap because I slept HORRIBLE last night. But instead i thought I’d plant another half dozen tomato plants. But instead, now I have to put on a clean shirt
AND MY CRANKYPANTS
and am going to my local home improvement store to take something back.

Guess what it is?

A big bag of garden soil.

Guess why I’m taking it back?

Because when I opened it and started to dump it into my wheelbarrow about a thousand baby termites tumbled out!!!!

Cappy. Don’t say it. :old
Nobody say it.
Chickens aren’t getting them.

I’m afraid they’ll miss some and they’ll eat my fence or my house!

I’m weak in the heat too.
I get all splotchy and wiffy.

You say that like,
no big deal- tomato cage.
La-dee-da....

Holy Moley! Oh wow, are you KIDDING ME??!!

I wish you lived near me. I’d come help. That is the most beautiful tomato cage I’ve ever seen.
They’re like ohh-la-la tomaaaahto cages.

Put me down for 17 please.

It was really easy to make. It is just 2x3's and 1x2's.
Eighteen bucks is all it cost including hardware.

I used 4 2x3's and 4 1x2's. I cut the 2x3's to 6' and used the cut offs around the bottom. The 1x2's are cut to 24" pieces. I built 2 sides like ladders and then attached together with the other cut offs from the 2x3's and more 1x2 pieces.
All I used were a miter saw, drill and impact driver. That and paint I already had.

I may make the others so I can sink the legs into the ground........

Wow. :bow

what anchors this tower? unless the uprights are in the ground.

Hubby wants them removable for tilling this bed. The current plan is t-posts at the corners........ I hate the idea.

I think I will push for sunken legs on the others. Even without concrete they would last at least 5 years.

I am TRYING to build my tall tomato cages.
I need it 20° cooler!!! I am weak and cannot handle HOT!

:he

I have to build 11 if I go ahead and plant the yellow tomato plants.
Nice! You def win the award for the crafties today.

@apryl29 My little broody is going good! 8 of 11 were developing as of Wednesday night. She’s actually laid eggs while broody. I’ve gotten at least 2 from her since she started sitting. Luckily she’s a sweet little lady and let’s me check on her and the eggs. She prefers I hand feed her in the nest but she seems to be taking good care of herself.
Jealous! She's doing such a good job! Loki laid a couple eggs too, but I didn't orignally think they were hers b/c they aren't supposed to lay while broody (apparently lies), but her eggs are very distinct that they couldn't be from anyone else. I considered giving her one of them, but then decided it was best not to. I still have it in a carton b/c if the other quit I was going to give it to her, but #1 is still going so it'll go unset. oddly enough she didn't lay her egg in the nest she's sitting. They must REALLY like that first nest if she's willing to leave her babies to lay in the other one. She's a goofball.

Sorry, fell asleep with the kiddos....
And just when I'm out good...stupid horse fly bites my wrist.... it would be fine if it didnt feel like my arm is on fire!!!!

(Looks worse in person lol)
You would LOVE my color choices inside then!
My main floor is a soft seafoam green with white trim. Basement is a soft smokey blue like the sky just after a storm passes while the master is a darker smokey grey like a stormy sky.
I decorated the basement like a beach cottage too.

I love me some cheap crazy oops paint!
Sounds like my kinda house!!
Being born and raised in the FL keys I love the ocean and everything in it!
