So very true. So very very true.

I had to go to the clerks office for tags. No problem the wait was short.
I stopped in and paid the insurance. No problem I got there as they opened.
I ran to grab milk and flour. No problem parking was close and lines were short.
I got home after being gone just an hour. Problem!!!! Delilah chewed up a wall corner and trim. She did it even with bitter yuck sprayed on it!
:barnie

Now how am I supposed to run the other errands and trust her tatery butt?!?!
To muddy outside due to rain.

I guess they get moved to tomorrow's list in hopes of dry weather.
add to errands.. look on sale sites for used crate

Crates!
Buy online! So much cheaper.

Or buy online /pick up in store.

I wanted a teeny 18” crate.
For a chicken.

Like the size for a Toy dog.

$53 in petsmart.

On my way out the girl asked me if I “found what I was looking for”.

Uh no. I’m leaving empty handed.

She said let me tell you a little secret.

I went out to my car and bought it online for $18.
Went inside and picked it up 15 minutes later.

Got my farts outside, gave them a tarp roof in case it rains. They needed outside time BAD!:lau

We have a crate. :hmm

I am definitely going to be working on her crate training.

I will say this was an unusual behaviour for her. She nibbled that corner slightly 2+ months ago and just the once.
normally I can put her out in her dog run bu but DANG the mud was soupy today.

Looking for opinions on chicken feathering....

I have a lovely barnyard mix girl. No idea what kind of mix. She a buff color with what might be considered lacing. Feathered legs and 4 toes.

She has always been a good layer (one of my best). When she started molting last fall (her first) she was actually still laying eggs. She did stop laying and kept on molting. Spring rolled around and I noticed she has more of a skirt. She molted and got extra feathers back. Comb is red and she’s acting normal but I’m honestly not sure she’s laying. If she is it’s not like she used to that’s for sure. Then I noticed her scales looked a little thick. As I’m examining her feet I see she has more foot feathers! She’s getting them on her middle toe. And the scales that I thought looked thick, ingrown feathers. Big feathers. Not just fluff but a real feather all stuck under her foot scales.

So now I’m wondering if she ever really stopped ‘molting’? Maybe her body is telling her to grow more feathers for some reason. Has anyone ever had a chicken get new feathers in places they didn’t have them before? Finally— why are my chickens so weird?

Yep, all these dang faverolles popped out massive amounts more feathers on their toes and legs after molting and Lulu grew this poofy curly cushion on top of her butt. Tucks grew a tiny beard that fell out in like two days and Hobo has feathers on her eyelids. I think you gave my girls the weird!:gig

She has pantaloons on now! The feathers on her legs got thicker and longer. It’s the extra toe feathers that are getting me. She didn’t have them on her middle toe before, she has them between her toes! Little fuzzy ones. Then the outside toe is getting real feathers. I picked at a thick scale and it popped off and this whole giant feather uncurled. A good 1/4 in long.
