chicky and @FlyingNunFarm ,That stuff is called MDF paneling I couldn't think of the name to save my butt. If you use it do yourself a solid and rent a nail gun to hang it because the outside is super tough.;)
@FlyingNunFarm thats what my coop is made of.
It’s painted with care, inside and out and is holding up perfectly. I think that part is key to protect it.
I like the look of it.

Nunny, i so wish i could come help! Love a good rehab!
You're all more then welcome to come up for coop raising! Bring some hand tools and a favorite recipe we'll make a weekend out of it!
I'll send ya off with a cockeral and whatever previous owner leftover you'd like! I can bake. Just not in the current wall oven. :gigIf you want to stay and strip some wallpaper I'd be happy to have the help with that too. There is lots of country duckies to go around.

Nunny, I think once you clear all that brush away, you’ll have a decent start! That looks like it may have been a garage, so you’ll probably have to do some ventilating, maybe you can just move some panels around.
My coops are all open air, wire sided, covered with metal roof. Just 1x3’s underneath the roof to mount to, and they make special screws that already have a washer and padding attached to the screw. All ya have to do is screw em down. Easy peasy, but not cheap.

Also check out T-111 (I think?) siding. It has overlaps built in and if you paint it, or buy it prepainted, it’ll last a long enough time.

Just got the metal put on my 2 newest additions a few weeks ago
