How much borax powder per gallon of water? I have the 20 mule team brand.

@biophiliac can you offer some advice?
Hi Anansi, Chad looks very robust! Is he a Modena? I use a couple tablespoons of 20 mule team borax per gallon of water.:) I dissolve it in a cup of hot water then add it to the rest of the water.

Chad is approximately 28 to 30 days old. There are still a few feathers that have not been shed, but with the exception of beak and size, looks like your typical pigeon. The beak is the only reason I knew he was too young to fly well instead of being sick. Can we give him a bath in something else to get all of the creepy crawlies off him?

If he has a lot of 'creepy crawlies' you might want to treat with a permethrin spray to get them off quicker. Borax baths will keep them away.

Hi honey! Good morning everyone:frow
Can’t wait to hear how Chad and the chickens get along!

Thanks all for the birthday wishes for DD. I think she enjoyed the day.

DH feeling better but still not great.

His dad is back in the hospital. He’s sliding down the slippery slope fast. -he was punted back from the rehab facility, where he doesn’t belong , and where he’s been receiving very poor care.

It wasn’t realistic of DH’s siblings to push for him to go in that direction. :he
He really and truly needs to be in a nursing home, or in a perfect world, in his home with caregivers
and an attentive family. :hmm

Edited for clarification:
The family was so adamant that the end goal was for him go into an assisted living facility rather than “a nasty nursing home”.
That is why he went from hospital to rehab where he has to meet progress markers in order to stay there and move on to assisted living.
He’s met none of the goals.

Has been there less than two weeks and has fallen on six different days(or nights). He’s disoriented and combative. Staff keeps him in a geri-chair almost all the time because he can’t be left in bed unattended.
He lives in a state that forbids the use of patient restraints.
