Lovely wildfire smoke. We are in the "unhealthy for everyone" air quality range.

Thats what it looks like here too. All gross and hanging low. We had a breeze all night so perhaps it is dispersed some today.

I can only imagine how bad it is closer to the fires. We are on the EASTERN slope. That smoke had to make it over the mountains to get here. It's freakishly ominous.

Yeah, neither are all the Chem trails on a clear day!

Probably the worst food someone else fed my kids was when my son got invited for a play date at a friends house.

They dad was a doctor.
The mom was a nurse.

They lived in a big house on a steeply sloped lot next to a giant pond.

When we arrived the mom answered the door and said come on in and follow me out back.

I’m just taking my little guy his lunch.

Okay so I followed her through the mansion to the beautiful yard.

Out there was a kid about 4 years old


in a body cast.


In a wagon.


Under an enormous tree on the HILLSIDE.


BY THE POND!


With a brick wedged under each front wheel.


Yup.

Two medical pro’s for parents,


Not a gram of sense between them.


Oh.... the lunch! Almost forgot.


His “favorite sandwich”.

White bread
Mayo
Curry powder.

That’s it.
No peanut butter
No jelly
No meat
No cheese
No tomato
No lettuce
Not even velvetta.
Nuthin
Nada

I need to know why the kid was in a body cast.

Proof once again that there needs to be testing before people have kids.

Might have been smart but common sense was definitely missing.

Pfsht.. you know if that happened most of us wouldn't exist.

I can't stand the stuff in the box. NASTY. Plus they don't make a gluten free version. I make it from scratch here. I brown the ground beef, add dried onion and peas and let the peas cook. In another pot, I cook the pasta and on the side I cube some cheddar and Monterrey Jack cheese. When cooked, I drain the pasta (do not rinse), put some butter in the bottom of the pasta pot, add the pasta back in the pot, toss the pasta with some extra butter, add cheese and meat/veggies, toss until the cheese is well melted by the hot pasta, serve.





It sounds less gross than my sister's favorite sandwich. Peanut butter, jelly, bologna, ketchup, mustard, relish.

What would make someone even consider putting those items together in one sandwich? My aunt mixes all kinds of things together. Like goes through the fridge and whatever is in there goes on her plate. And always a dill pickle too.

I used to eat ketchup sandwiches. My favorite was a pita pocket with ketchup in. LOL I eat fries with BBQ sauce. That mostly started because it was easier then ketchup packets squirted on a napkin.

I’ve never in my life liked mushrooms or raw tomatoes. They stink!

My bff does the ketchup sandwich. Once she was at work and there was some saltine & ketchup packets left on the table so she made cracker sandwiches out of them. Does the same thing w/ Mayo. I love bbq w/ fries & on mashed potatoes too! Green beans w/ ketchup is good too. I remember when I was a kid I'd dip doritos in ketchup, haven't done it in forever though so IDK if I'd still eat it.

I eat ice cream with french fries. The best is a frosty with fries or chick-fil-a's waffle fries with ice cream.

Yes! and chocolate ice cream w/ potato chips. Something about the salty fries/ chips makes the ice cream better.

Man the first day in the coop is always a tearjerker lol! I set that white pen up inside the coop and put a roost in so they'd have something similar to what they were sleeping in. I put their food and water in there for now but i'll take it out before bed. I put them up a little early due to weather and so they can come to grips that they aren't house chicks anymore.Just so sad watching them try to squeeze though the holes when I left.

The kids are growing up! They're so big already. How are they this morning? How are YOU this morning?

I don’t buy the velveeta blocks anymore but I do like the velveeta pasta shells and cheese.

I buy the pouches of it to make cheezy rice sometimes, b/c I cannot get reg cheese to melt properly.

The weirdest thing happened yesterday. I had to go to one of our branches to replace a piece of equipment that failed. That happens.. but when I get there in our server area is a cable modem and wireless access point that doesn't belong to us, and no one knows where it came from. We asked the people who work there and none of them remember anyone coming to put it in. We have no idea how long it's been there, but it wasn't there in January. So either their former branch manager who left in May forgot to tell anyone, or someone from the township came in while we were closed and had it installed. Even our director doesn't know anything about it. I've never had equipment magically appear. And they took it upon themselves to plug their stuff into our UPS (battery back-up) w/o asking.
If only someone would leave us a big bag of $$ instead.

The dad was playing “soccer” with the bigger boys and the little one wanted to play too. But the game was too rough.
So the dad picked up the little guy and was running around with him on his hip and slipped.....
and started to fall down the steep hill and didn’t want to fall ON him so he grabbed him by the thigh and went to shift him quickly to his other side....
SNAP! Spiral fracture of the femur and dislocated hip.
