Do you mean camelback crickets?

I don't know, here in NJ we call them spider crickets (or "sprickets"). They are these gross crickets with really long legs like a spider and they jump really high. I get a heart attack every time one of them jumps near me when I feed the chooks, they are terrible.

Speaking of crazy looking critters. What the ????? (Just now, outside my office

Kill it w fire and pet the toad. I keep having to save stupid toads from my chickens, but one of the babies got a baby toad and I couldn't save it.

Good morning, sweet Squatchers! Gotta play a little catch up...:caf

It is hot as panty plums (hahahaha, I was dying to say that! @Chickassan) here today!!! Like 105 with the heat index I think. I'm a gross sweaty mess, just came in from the chook area for the 10th time.

Nunny, I'm so sorry about your chick. :hugs:hit

You guys, I was cleaning up my desktop yesterday and found this awesome, awesome chart of chicken meds I found when I was researching treatment for Lafayette. It is so good I am going to print the entire thing. It should be a sticky.

Oooo thanks!

OK, here's a freaky one for you guys! Once I was gardening and I found one of these. I wasn't sure if it was animal or vegetable until it started moving. Weirdest thing I ever saw.

Anyone want to take a gander? You gotta love the internet!
We have those here. Not venomous. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_leopard_moth

You can get rid of them by turning on a light. :lau

I'm not laughing AT you, I am totally WITH you... they give me the willies.

Hahahahaha, very funny!!! :plbb I do have electric to the coops, but I rarely use it.

The worst is when I go in at night to tuck them all in. I have this dorky headlamp that I wear. I run in the back coop, do the fastest headcound ever, try not to look at the wall of sprickets ready to jump on my face, and then I run the hell outta there. Every nght. Sometimes I scream a little if I see movement, lol.

YES!!!! You got it!!! Aren't they weird?

My husband thought it was some kind of part that fell off something. It's very rubbery, orangey, and spiky. I never saw the actual moth (they are lovely) it grew into, and I have never seen one before or since.

If you poke it it curls into a little ball, and stays there. I thought it fell off a tree myself when I first saw it.

Tomato horn worms turn into very large moths. Moths are out mostly at night so you do not see them as much

Got the paper baking off. It was painted over with something. I'm guessing to try and hide it under the wallpaper. The whole thing is painted in color. Where it looks greenish yellow is green paint underneath.
I have seen that before! Do an image search and see where it came from
