when I traded in my car, they said 10 yrs old was the oldest people could get a loan on... it was over 10
When I got this car I went to a place and they had and AMAZING car that I fell in love with, then when I went to get the paperwork started they said it was too old to get a loan on and tried to sell me a PT Cruiser. I loathe PT cruisers and the guy insisted I do a test drive and the entire time I was in the car I get more and more angry. He was also terribly creepy & I really didn't want to have to have him come alone w/ a test drive.
ETA: He also offered to COME HOME WITH ME to help me clean out my car to use it as a trade in. Um. No.

Gah, girl you passed on a horribly tacky car and a creepy dude all in one go. What in the world is wrong with you? :lau

Right? So many missed opportunities. I need to make better choices next time. Actually, yesterday when I was sitting on the side of the road ONE guy stopped and asked if I needed help. I said no, I had someone on the way and my child said MOM! That could have been our new step dad! I wouldn't have said no if he was willing to buy me a new car though. lol

Ha! See even the kid knows you turn down the treasures the universe sends your way lol! In all seriousness though can't blame you "help" can mean many, many things these days.:caf

Many years ago I drove the biggest heap of junk ever!!

I took it to a shop to have some work done...... When I went to pick it up the mechanic tells me " With a car like that you need a mechanic for a boyfriend."
I held up my one year old son and said "How do you think I got this one?!" .
No they didn't fix what it was in for.

Yeah there are some real doozies out there.

Oh, he def wasn't just trying to be nice. Like I told him I wanted to take the car over to my dad's work and he's like I'll go w/ you. I know the owner (of the place my dad works). Um, no.... you don't do that. It was a horrible experience and I'm certain they did it b/c I was young and a woman, alone - plus, no wedding ring. Who does that? You're at work, don't be creeping on the customers. That place went out of business soon after. Not surprised. Like he was bragging about some commission thing he got for selling a new car.

I get some weird ones like that once in a while. I get the wrinkled top pretty frequently, not sure why, but some days it's worse than others and when I boil them the top pops off and I get egg whites in the water. You near a little "pop" when it happens. I don't sell those ones.

Girl,a creeper is a creeper no matter the setting being at work just broadens the horizon. And yep iv'e had some poppers in the kettle I don't like when they do that. No way would I give anyone my egg it looks like a wrinkly bean, it probably tastes just fine though.:)

They do it at my work too. I work in a public library and I've had people get super creepy w/ me. Like asking me to come to their house to fix their computers & people asking me my name. Not in a typical customer service kind of way b/c I don't work w/ the public. There was this one guy who came to one of our branches like it was his job. Would tell the desk people he was 'going to lunch' and would take his lunch box outside and eat, EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. then come back in to continue his 8 hour stretch of playing video games at the library. One day we were prepping a server install for after they closed and this guy waits til I was the only one in the room and says really creepily "Is your name April?". Luckily my one coworker, a rather large intimidating man, came in during this and helped me out. It's still a running joke in our dept... I've worked hard to make sure I appear unapproachable when I'm out in the public now. People stay away when you look like you could rip their head off at any given moment. Unfortunately my boss keeps forgetting that we have creepers here and sends me out to deal with them. Once a guy came in w/ his laptop and couldn't get it connected to the wifi.. b/c it was infested w/ malware from looking at adults sites. So I'm trapped having to help him & he tells me his wife doesn't like that he looks at adults sites and DATING sites... I got the feeling he was trying to gauge my reaction. Then he asks me to help him delete his adult content. I was so uncomfortable. I talked to the manager out there and they're no longer allowed to come get me to help patrons. I keep getting guys who specifically ask for me. Out front they've been told to refer them to the reference people or the manager. If I'm at work and I'm nice it's b/c I'm being paid to be nice. Why don't people get that?
