Thanks Sam....I finally got my Ameraucana
I saw that happy to welcome ya to the club. I believe that makes three of us i could be wrong but it’s you, FNF, and myself with these guys. I believe someone else mentioned they have or had some but it escapes me who. You will like her if you spend time with her if you don’t she will be flighty.
Is yours Amish she has a big full beard :D :gigshe is pretty.

Bacon comes in cans?!

umm I bet he canned his own
or bought it from the amish

Back in the days when I had lots of disposable income I bought a couple cases of yoders for those times when I didn't have fresh. And yes, I canned a bunch too. With and without parchment. Without parchment is really just good for grease with parchment can actually be baked and come out decent. Yoders is way better than mine.

Well I FINALLY got around to processing the taterhead tom.
He was the one that would attack me unless he had high protein turkey feed ONLY.. no grass or weed seeds or berries or garden produce. So much for free ranging:he
He had buggered up his foot a couple of weeks ago and when it was hurting he left me alone. How often does the bird you need to get rid of is the one that gets hurt
I was taking him off the roost in the am and had hopes he would change .. when his foot was better he started up after me again. So I didn't help him and he injured it again :smack
I figured I better do it before he went into full molt... when I carried him he was as calm as could be and if his foot hadn't been bad I don't think I could have done him in. :hit He was 2 1/2 yrs old and I miss him even though he ripped open my legs.

He was a nari, 20lbs dressed and those feathers coming in under the skin are a bear to get out:barnie

always a hard choice...

They do numb you up. But I'm afraid once that scope hits the back of the tongue, I'll be yakking, and I would rather lose a finger than puke!

Hahahahahaha @rjohns39 !!!!!! :lau So true!!! Either that or a nice chunk of mackerel, lol. :yuckyuck

And Cappy would force-feed me some kind of medication for gapeworm, lol!!
too funny

You won't ralph, that numbing agent is so good you'll be able to do things that would make Linda Lovelace blush. Btw nice anti ralphing record! I'm on 20 would be better but I got prescribed Celexa and it turned me into that chick from the excorcist...i'm just a tad allergic.:caf
So you guys, this is totally OT (but what else is new, lol?)

I'm a big wuss, but I have to go to the ENT on Wednesday to get something checked out and it's freaking me out! Have any of you ever had a trans-nasal esophagoscopy before (where they pass a scope through your nose and into your throat?) If so, what was it like and did you gag or puke?

For the past 3 or 4 weeks I've had this weird clicking noise/feeling in my throat right in the thyroid area (where your adam's apple is) every time I swallow (of course, being a nurse and a pessimist, I immediately start thinking I have cancer). I went to my regular doc and she said I need to see my ENT, so I made an appt. (Cappy--don't tell me it's worms, lol, OK! Cuz it's not. :p)

Thing is, I have anxiety, and this SEVERE phobia of puking. I haven't puked in 44 years (I am not kidding). Seriously, even though I've been a nurse since forever, I have this fear of it. To the point where I almost passed out once when i first started nursing in the ER, trying to pass an NG tube down someone who started puking up blood.

I am so afraid he is going to want to do this procedure right then and there (as my regular doc already said he may) and I won't be able to go through it. If he does, I am going to see if he can do an alternate test or if I can come back and get it done sedated.

So, if any of you have ever had this done before and you can give any insight on what it was like, I would be eternally grateful!

XO Cindi

ETA: It's kinda embarassing to even ask this, considering what @apryl29 kid just went through....but that's been my phobia forever. Every nurse has their one thing that freaks them out, and puking is mine. I have done some really gross things as a nurse and a vet and didn't bat an eye. But puke....ahhhh...my sister and my aunt have the same fear, so it must be genetic, lol.
