One of my Mystery Eggs is moving!! OMG!!!

I am a terrible chicken hatcher. I candled my eggs every single day.

And I just took out my bator eggs (I know..I know). Real quick. And held them up to my ear. One is tap tap tapping away, and peeping!! (I peeped back at it). The other was quiet. I put them both back real quick.

The peeping egg is rolling around a little!!! It is so amazing and awesome, I can't even stand it. Maybe I'll have a little peeper when I wake up!

What if it starts hatching before I go to work, and is in the incubator all day while I'm working? Will it be OK? I'll be gone for like 8.5 hours or so.

it will be fine for at least 24 hrs in the bator... should leave them in the bator to dry off

Candling every day is fine!

As long as you don't have a turner in there and on it will be fine.
With my Broody Queen (who's at it again) I checked them all the time. I went out the morning of hatch and the first egg I got out was pipped and I was so excited!!! So I snuck it back under and went to grab another. I pulled out a chick! All fluffed up and walking around. I couldn't believe I missed it. Then a second one came out from under her. LOL Little stinkers like to hatch when no ones lookin.

I see small claims court in Cappy's future, and banning her tater hubby from ever hiring a contractor again. TBH, I think I could have done a better job, and I've never done tile. SMH.

Ikr? I am going to end up doing it myself i bet.

As long as you don't have a turner in there and on it will be fine.
With my Broody Queen (who's at it again) I checked them all the time. I went out the morning of hatch and the first egg I got out was pipped and I was so excited!!! So I snuck it back under and went to grab another. I pulled out a chick! All fluffed up and walking around. I couldn't believe I missed it. Then a second one came out from under her. LOL Little stinkers like to hatch when no ones lookin.

I am very excited to see what comes out! If they are all black, have 4 toes or 5...silkie or AC or brahma or some mix. I will love them no matter what they are! I just hope there might be a lil Lafayette in one of them.

ETA: They both are moving now! DH actually caught the quiet one moving.

SO EXCITING. Like a tiny miracle. It never gets old!

Well that's why they aren't tilling the area. They cannot scratch through hardware cloth.

Yes do focus on schooling! It's very important.

I let them free range the garden during the day, only in the tractor after dark. The garden does have a fence. The top pullet flies up on top of the tractor and stands guard.

@pitbullmomma Can't belive you didn't come home with the entire bin of derps! I'm telling you, the more you have the more fun they are.....Nah, seriously I spent over an hour today getting Beavis out of a hole all because she wouldn't back up and just kept spreading out like a cat going in a box. Like I said though, can't belive you didn't take them ALL!

The not having $ part is a big red flag. Either he's conned everyone else & they stopped using him, or he's lying bc he knows you're ticked.

He always lies, i think it amuses hubby for some warped reason.

I only have one incubator still plugged in and i guess its time to unplug it.
