Dood morning all! :caf

It's chilly out today. I've been putting the Sweeter Heater in my tiny coop on at night so the babies don't freeze.

How are you all doing? Suzi, how is the hand?

Yesterday I went out to the O.C. (Original Coop) and Big Bird, my white Silkie, seemed to be broody AGAIN (she's a freaking machine). So I picked her off the nest and there were two eggs under her, and this round fuzzy black thing the size of a silver dollar.

I picked it up and it was one of thse wooly bear fuzzy caterpillar things, curled up in a circle. Silly chickens! :lau

Awww so cute. She wants a fuzzy baby!

The hand is getting better every day...thanks so much for asking.

I was wondering how your Seramas are doing in the cold. So far I haven't added any heat. Momma and babies (babies are now 8 weeks) are in one small coop and my other Serama hen and rooster are in another small coop along with a Bantam Wyandotte. So far they seem perfectly fine. I was reading about someone up in th UP of Michigan that has Seramas and they do just fine. He just makes sure there are no drafts and tarps to keep the coop and run dry. Truthfully my Seramas aren't much smaller than my D'ucclle and she did fine last winter.

Btw ya'll it isn't like clown red, it is a deep red "thank heavens for small miracles" but it is henna so it still has a few days before it decides just how loud it is going to be. Did not help one bit that I forgot about it! I'm about to see what four hours looks like. Still better than going to the beauty shop, i'm just not doing that.:caf
Whoa! So... How red is it? Carrot top, Jessica Rabbit or Elmo?

I just hope I don't get attacked! I do red alot, my undertones are red so I go with it to cover the grays although not usually to this extent. I'm stuck with red or brown that's it.:D
Same... though I stopped doing red colors years ago b/c it never lasted very long and my hair would inevitably turn orange. Dark or Med Auburn is what I usually used and it'd look cute for a bit, then turn this weird orange color as the red washed out... it looked like someone was being murdered every time I washed my hair. I eventually gave up. Now it's just brown, which I need to do soon b/c my temples are getting very white.
I'd never bother with a salon, my hair grows too fast for it to be worth it.

My chickens are a wreck too. Maybe it’s molting AND the change of season AND How we’ve gone from losing a tiny bit of noticeable light at the end of the day to :
DANG! It’s pitch black outside already! I need to go lock up the run!

example:

I thought it was at least “nearing” bedtime. Dinner was finished. Dishes were done, so I started my routine.
Scooped the litter box, took the dogs out, put on my pj’s, brushed my teeth... then came back out to the living room and DH cracked up and said it was my new personal best. Ready for bed at just past 8. :clap
:eek::celebrate:th

Clean sheets on the bed too.
MMMmmmmmm:gig

This time of year messes me up too.
I hear ya! My kids have even been going to bed earlier. It's kinda nice. Though I could do w/o the cold weather. I baked muffins last night to heat the place up a bit.

Well, you won't let her hatch babies so she's got to improvise! My daughter saved about a dozen of them when we went to get pumpkins on Sunday.. They were all named for the avengers and were put in a safe place to discuss the Avengers Initiative. Then we ran across Spiderman and took him home w/ us b/c we were too far away from the group to turn around. (My kid jumped out of the car in the parking area to get him so he wouldn't get smashed)

:frowGood morning all.
@apryl29 , I wear my hair short so it wouldn’t be worth it to go to a Salon for hair color.

I asked my stylist though about my hair dye turning orange, and she said it’s a body chemistry thing, and to pick colors that say “neutral” “cool” or “ash” in the name, and to avoid the ones that have “warm”.
And since my hair is fine in texture to knock off several minutes from the developing stage to avoid my hair “grabbing” too much of the dark tones. (The ones that make you look like an Elvis impersonator.) so now instead of 25 minutes, I only leave it on for 19 and I actually use a timer.

That did the trick!

Also weird one...
My daughter has long hair and gets this whole process done with lots of tones.
One time it looked great when she left the salon but two days later it was as if it just evaporated.

She was hysterical.
We made her an appointment for “color correction”.

While her stylist (same one she always goes to) was looking at it and trying to decide what to do about it, the owner of the salon pulled me discretely aside.
He was a man.

He asked me if by any chance she was having her period.

Well actually she was!

He said NEVER get your hair colored at that time.
Messes with “the chemistry”.

So they told her to wear a messy bun for a few days and come back -“after”.

That took care of it.
