As I sit here grumbling in my coffee about my big fat zero eggs.

x2! I have a bunch of 8 and 10 month old pullets that haven't laid a single egg.

Lots of pretty birds. Mine are starting to lay, but few so far. Says the guy going to get 14 bags of layer.

Yeah me too.
I had one girl who didn’t molt in earnest when the rest of them did.

She resumed laying and I was so surprised.... then about a week in she suddenly started a hard molt.
I can’t win.
Mine are just fluffy yard ornaments at this point.
it’s coming though because their combs are turning red and growing again.

Got 5 eggs one day, 7 another, zip in between, then the occasional 1 here and 1 there. Some of these girls are butt heads about the nest boxes, so we've begun the spring egg hunting. Many with bright red combs and waddles. So far, old girls and the RIWs are laying, nothing from the BH yet.

Not to brag, but I'm getting more eggies now too. Some of my EEs have started laying as well.

I'm getting more too. Not a lot, but maybe 3 or so a day small. Enough to not have to buy grocery store eggs (the NON-CHICKENY KIND, as my goofy DH says, lol) again! That was a humiliating experience.

I'm thinking it's because the days are longer again, that they are starting to lay.

I guess if mine are going to be hold outs they can till the garden.


If I cannot have eggs then let there be fewer grubs in the garden.
