Official Squatch Watchers

I got the 4 pack of chicks moved to a see no touch section of the big coop and run.
:wee

I got the big bed planted. No corn but we got beans, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, cabbage and cantaloupe in there. OH and a 24' row of giant sunflowers.

I finally finished filling an 8x4 bed and got onions and a zucchini in there......still a lot of room for more.

Tomorrow I will set up the pvc/soda bottle strawberry thing.

It is getting ready to rain here.

Seriously, sometimes I look stuff up and it leads me to this site but old, old, stuff like 2011.
Anyways, i'm dumbfounded how the claws come out over sevin dust. Now I know it isn't the best, but to read some of those posts you'd think it was doom in a bag.
People get freaked out over the oddest stuff, full tilt freaked out.:gig
I am not a fan of sevin dust.... Please don't use it where the bees can get to it.

I remember when my folks used DDT and said it was safe. After all the government sprayed the troops down with it in WWII so it must be safe.

:thumbsup All poison needs to be handled safely.

Most poisons kill bees. Permectrin has been cited in studies on bee kills:wee

I'm really careful with it. I like my bees and beneficial insects it never goes on plants or even outdoors for that matter. My mom and dad didn't think about that but I do. The bag I used was actually theirs.:)

Lulu understands english, promise she does. Was getting eggs and she goes towards the now forbidden nest. I say go eat and drink Lulu...go be a chicken. She turns around, walks away tuck, tuck, tuckin and goes to eating out of the bowl.
This means everytime she's a jerk she's aware and enjoying my frustration with her shenanigans.:hmm

We had some thunder with the rain today.

 Seriously it was not horrible thunder.

It takes just a tiny bit of thunder to kick the 110# old dog into being a giant furniture tipping panic factory.
:barnie Not to mention the panic panting....and the panic it causes the other dogs.

Sevin dust puffed into the cracks were the wasps had taken over part of a wall into the garage, worked great. Months later, I was still finding wasp bodies all over the garage floor. Also a ground wasp nest. Never used it for anything but wasps.

It works great on wasps, the layer of bodies in that old bag confirms that.
We used it for cabbage worms, chicken mites and sheep flies here.
I remember very well being up at dawn puffing those cabbages it was fun as a kid.:)

For those without insurance, look in to prescription savings programs, either through the drug manufacturer, or other places. Ask the pharmacist about any programs they are aware of. Also, go to the pharmacy websites and see if they have a generic medication price program, such as Walmart. For example, Walmart has multiple medications, such as metformin and glipizide, at $4 for a 30 day supply, and $10 for a 90 day supply. There are multiple ways to save on medications, you just have to do your research, and it's not something that is frequently talked about. I learned about it while volunteering at a free clinic and my first paid position in a public health setting.
