Official Squatch Watchers

Good morning! Bob had a buddy this morning a little skunk not too much larger than himself.
He dosent chase skunks! I don't know if he's smart of if he knows there is NO WAY i'm feeding that.:D

Girl you know i'm a sucker for an ugly chicken bring her on! :p
Hahahaha :goodpost: !

That baby beaver though... :love Magical!

I don't tell her she's ugly, I say it behind her back to my husband. But she is. She's a black cuckoo marans and is the ugliest bird I've ever seen (I will post pics of them both). And the most unfriendly. She better start laying a nice dark brown egg soon!

Whew o.k thought I was trippin!
Lulu is slowly leaving a trail of feathers everywhere. I thought it was the rooster being a douche to yet another girl until I saw them literally fall out of her butt.
Kind of early isn't it? :hmm

Our old men still talk like it is the 50's where telling a teen she's attractive was a compliment not creepy.
He'll have no idea what he did wrong.;)
I feel like it is. I have several who are going naked. I fluffed Olive last night and her belly is naked (not broody, just molting). I need to get some calfmanna to give them a boost.

Need some advice, guys.

My new little d'Uccle, Arya, has been sitting alot over the past week. Since yesterday I noticed she's been limping on her left foot. (She's about 4-5 months or so and has not started laying yet, as far as I can tell.) I gave her leg and foot a good going-over and do not see or palpate any swelling, instability, etc. She is eating and drinking and none of the other chickens are lame. I isolated her and her big sister (inseparable) Hedwig in the hospital/broody coop just now, with lytes, vitamins, and probiotics in her water. I feel so bad, have any of you guys had this happen? I went to the poultry symptom checker and looked at everything it could possibly be.

What do you think? Should I give her something for pain? If it was broken I would think there would be swelling, but there isn't. Maybe slipped tendon?

Thanks! XO
Jackie had a limp for a few months where she did a lot of sitting. She walks fine now. She's a fatty (partridge rock) and I think she landed wrong when she jumped off the roost. Odin had a limp for a while and it was roosting on a very narrow board. After I got him on a better roost he stopped limping.

SHE DID IT!!! In the nest box too!

It looks much greener in outdoor lighting.
I am super happy that she did it!

Good morning everyone!

We are on our first road trip as a family of 4. We are driving 6 hours away to Delaware. We are staying in a hotel because my parents have readied their house for sale and there are only so many beds. We are driving up today, tonight we’ll hang out with my brother, cousin (also my bff), her husband and daughter. Tomorrow is a built in recovery day. Saturday is a memorial luncheon for my Dad’s aunt. It will be nice to see family members I haven’t seen in years/ a decade. Sunday, we are having a party at my parents house for Thing 1’s birthday for extended family, welcome the Milk Drinker to the family, and a farewell to my parents Delaware house. Sunday night we are moving to a hotel in PA so on Monday we can visit with DH’s Grandmother. Tuesday we will be doing some shopping on the way home. We are already about an hour and 15 min into the trip. We stopped about an hour out for breakfast at Chick-fil-A, I can’t resist a chance to have breakfast there, and to top off the Milk Drinker.

At this point, I’m just glad that I have two kids that don’t mind being their car seats.

SON OF A TATER!!

I was out back doing regular stuff. Cleaning the coop and such.
I needed to scrub out one of the dish pan nests. Ok so I go turn on the faucet....as I had done yesterday and twice earlier to water the garden.
I got swarmed and stung several times by FREAKING WASPS!

White vinegar applied and 2 benadryl taken.

Later this evening I will find those so and so's and yes heavy duty poison will be used liberally!

Good gawd the stings hurt!

Yes it was a cute little baby, more tail than skunk but man they scare me! The fact we are both pretty much blind does not help lol!
Temps here well...suck, it is 87 with 74%humidity so it feels 94.
Morning everyone!

Gonna be a sweltering day here.

I hope to get the garden watered and the big coop cleaned before it hits the 90's.

Chicky, baby skunks are cute. :sick just don't trigger the stinky end. :lau
I thought so! We were worried about them freezing last time!

I went ahead and sprayed the daylights out of the most likely place they have a nest.
Of all places it is the disconnected, evacuated useless, annoying that hubs has not disposed of it ac unit!

I am hauling it to my truck this evening. I will get rid of it myself!! :rant
