Hahahaha!
That baby beaver though...Magical!
I don't tell her she's ugly, I say it behind her back to my husband. But she is. She's a black cuckoo marans and is the ugliest bird I've ever seen (I will post pics of them both). And the most unfriendly. She better start laying a nice dark brown egg soon!
Good morning! Bob had a buddy this morning a little skunk not too much larger than himself.
He dosent chase skunks! I don't know if he's smart of if he knows there is NO WAY i'm feeding that.
Girl you know i'm a sucker for an ugly chicken bring her on!![]()

just don't trigger the stinky end.
I feel like it is. I have several who are going naked. I fluffed Olive last night and her belly is naked (not broody, just molting). I need to get some calfmanna to give them a boost.Whew o.k thought I was trippin!
Lulu is slowly leaving a trail of feathers everywhere. I thought it was the rooster being a douche to yet another girl until I saw them literally fall out of her butt.
Kind of early isn't it?
Our old men still talk like it is the 50's where telling a teen she's attractive was a compliment not creepy.
He'll have no idea what he did wrong.![]()
Jackie had a limp for a few months where she did a lot of sitting. She walks fine now. She's a fatty (partridge rock) and I think she landed wrong when she jumped off the roost. Odin had a limp for a while and it was roosting on a very narrow board. After I got him on a better roost he stopped limping.Need some advice, guys.
My new little d'Uccle, Arya, has been sitting alot over the past week. Since yesterday I noticed she's been limping on her left foot. (She's about 4-5 months or so and has not started laying yet, as far as I can tell.) I gave her leg and foot a good going-over and do not see or palpate any swelling, instability, etc. She is eating and drinking and none of the other chickens are lame. I isolated her and her big sister (inseparable) Hedwig in the hospital/broody coop just now, with lytes, vitamins, and probiotics in her water. I feel so bad, have any of you guys had this happen? I went to the poultry symptom checker and looked at everything it could possibly be.
What do you think? Should I give her something for pain? If it was broken I would think there would be swelling, but there isn't. Maybe slipped tendon?
Thanks! XO
Yay!!!!SHE DID IT!!! In the nest box too!

SON OF A TATER!!
I was out back doing regular stuff. Cleaning the coop and such.
I needed to scrub out one of the dish pan nests. Ok so I go turn on the faucet....as I had done yesterday and twice earlier to water the garden.
I got swarmed and stung several times by FREAKING WASPS!
White vinegar applied and 2 benadryl taken.
Later this evening I will find those so and so's and yes heavy duty poison will be used liberally!
Good gawd the stings hurt!
Yes it was a cute little baby, more tail than skunk but man they scare me! The fact we are both pretty much blind does not help lol!
Temps here well...suck, it is 87 with 74%humidity so it feels 94.
