Cardboard is a terrific insulator, hobos don't sleep in boxes for the Feng Shui.;)
No idea why you live in Ohio, iv'e visited but in no way wanted to stay in fact I had no idea there were normal people there until you and Nunny.
The people I met were all kinds of freakin weird, and I got wind burn first time ever wtf? :D
I'm sorry to tell you this but I'm weird AF. I have loads of people who will confirm. Not even just the chicken stuff... nothing a flat earther or anything crazy like that, but a lot of stuff that doesn't make me "normal" to outsiders.

Good morning! I don't know if my phone is lying but it says 34 with a real feel of 30 so shorts weather for Bob!
Also I hear crowing of two pitches so Prince physically survived his scolding, lets hope the rest of him did and that Susan dosent have "plans" for the nudgy food lady.:p

Nonsense, good weather is rare and amazing!
Id talk about it if I had it :smackbe damned.
It's 33 here now and it feels tropical! IDK what it was this am when I left for work, but it felt WARM. The supposed high is 36 which is above freezing so I'm hoping that everything will start the melt a bit. I need my tarps cleaned off before the snow comes again.

I think we are going to bring Tilly home today.

I know she is still very very sick. I am terrified to bring her home if she is still refusing food.

The $ is getting way to big to choke down.

She and I will be barricaded in the kitchen.
I have good big cushions for her use. I have 2 cushions that are 2'x4' and 3-4" thick. Yup the super expensive kind bought specifically as dog beds.

The hospital burned through 2 days $ in one day. I am pretty sure 1/2 the extra tests they ran were excessive. Testing for very rare conditions that she does not have symptoms for. :hmm

Hubs has had all he can take and then some of all the extra $ and tests.

I have barricaded in the kitchen before with Jack when he was super sick. He HAD eaten while at the vets though so . I had to offer him food and liquid every 30 minutes for 2 weeks after he came home and yes I was in tears often with him.

I guess I just don't know what to do at this point. She is so very sick.

:fl For her today.
Oh I'm so glad you get to bring her home, but also worried. Do you have the ability to do iv fluids at home? Maybe her appetite will come back a bit once she's home with you.

She is the one on the back of the sofa. For real she sits there so she gets a real good view of any shifty carp out the front window.
Ten years ago when Jack had swallowed a rock he had surgery. It was ~ $1500.

I put a call in to my old vet that treated him. I really hope he calls me back. I stressed to the receptionist that Tilly is a critical case and I really need to talk to him.

I don't but then where she is she doesn't even have a blanket. Just big pee pads. :(
I certainly can get one of I have to.
Poor thing! I get why they don't give them blankets and stuff, b/c it's more for them to clean, but I've always thought that was so sad to see them w/o anything to lie on. Question, has she been checked all over for ticks? I know you bathe them often, but you know how ticks are. I hope the former vet will have some insight into how to best help her. Hugs!

No ticks here. We are to dry and to low in elevation for Colorado ticks. We don't take them hiking (cause I am old).

The vet hospital called. She ate 2 tiny bites of chicken. She is drinking on her own.
I plan to bring her home today.
Yes I think she will eat better at home.
Familiar people, smells, sounds, nice place to lay and all that should go a long way to help her.

I will only take her outside on leash for a long time to come.

The plan for the kennel is to pave he whole thing come spring thaw.

Never again will we risk a rock getting swallowed. Yes she had a rock in there (I don't recall if I posted that). She did pass the rock. It was huge at 1.5" .

Yes, you mentioned it, but not the size. That is a big rock! Do they think she'll be able to pass it on her own? Ughhhh. Dogs, they're as bad as chickens. My friend's dog would pick up rocks and carry them around in her mouth and give them to people, but I don't think she ever ate any. Yay that she's doing well enough to come home and has eaten a little bit. Hopefully she's learned her lesson even if you're going to make changes. It's like little kids eating gum off the grounds. smh.

Smart man, keep the buns in the bag around the birdies.:)
:gigJust your run of the mill variety of gym shorts:lau:gig

Iv'e met people who have set the bar extremely high to be considered even mildly weird.
Im pretty much shell shocked.:lau

Same here, OG thermometer verified but no frost and the thinnest layer of ice on the water after a 26 degree night, odd.

She did pass the rock. Freaking horrible as I am always on the watch for rocks in the kennel.
The only way she got it is having dug the tatering thing up.

Hubs took a small rock away from River the other day too.

You'd probably think I'm pretty boring in real life.. unless you catch me talking to myself. Sometimes my inner monologue isn't enough to keep me focused on something. Fortunately I've seen some fairly sane looking people doing that too.

Given the effect they have.....I cannot recommend trying one. :hmm

It is believed that most dogs swallowing rocks are playing with it and accidentally swallow it.
