Any of you use sulfur in the coop? I did the oxalic acid treatment to the coop and I'd say knocked the mites back 80%-90%. Still a few running around. I added a dust bath tub that I know they are using but I was going to add sulfur to it.
Who knew there were so many sulfer options. Looking for any recommendations.

I think @Molpet uses sulfur, I don't know about in the coops.
Yes I put elemental sulfur 1# to 10# of dust bath. Put some in a old nylon or thin sock and poof the bird's butt and under wings, or use a duster. I put a layer down and bedding on top. Go through every so often with the duster and poof roosts, boxes and crevices

Is there a kind you like more then another? A good place to buy?

I couldn't find locally so Amazon. Power/flour is better than granular.
I bought 1 lbs first time and 10 lbs once I decided I liked it. But I have three 8x8 and one 8x24 coops.
I'll see if I can find what I bought

I just set up my first breeding pen of the year! This is Hop-a-long, one of my Cornish roos that was maimed by that bully Blue Cochin I had, along with my two original Cornish girls and the lone White I have left from eggs I got from Fairview01. I had a White cockerel hatch too but he died of suicidal stupidity. Hop-a-long has recovered nicely. He only has a lip if he tries to move fast.

Morning Bob, Chicky, anyone else awake. :frow

Chicky,
At least you ain't pushing up daisies!
Sleep disorders suck! I am sorry you are going through them. :hugs
I hope there is a way to overcome them. :fl

Yes losing that ball was WAY more traumatic for Tilly than it should have been.
Apparently when I have to leave the house it is just as bad. I have not been leaving unless someone is here to watch the dogs for months now.
I am told she does that screaming bay and darts from door to door to window the whole time I am gone. :( poor baby.
Im hoping changing some behaviors help.
No more bazillion cups of coffee, no more staying up until im dead tired.
Time to be somewhat adult with my habits since hubs isn't thrilled with me trying to beat him up at night repeatedly.
Poor dude, im making him an abused spouse lol! :D
Brighter news, Dutch laid a cone head.
I got 7 today, the whole potato disaster weeks I did good to get 3.

It is not noise that is upsetting her it is that while she was so sick I spent so much time in physical contact with her for weeks.

She developed a few odd behaviors from needing the special care for so long. Time and easing her out of them will work.

When Jack was one and did the rock swallow challenge (yes I gave it a name ) he was off for a few months too. Me leaving was horrific for him too. :hmm

Odd things.....my shoes with laces trigger a panic attack, any jacket except the yard coat, touching my hand bag, going near the front door, closing them out so I can mop, closing the bathroom door. Just weird crap she is reactive to.
But the tight hug of the shirt is comforting to them I think, noise or not.
